I gave myself a week to complete this, just finished it seconds ago. I thought this would be an interesting idea for a short. I was sorta inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion.
If you haven't played Pico's School, this probably will make very little sense.
I have noting else to say.

This was... Wow. Like many other commenters, I don't know where to start. First of all, I love the backgrounds, which seemed like they were painted. This was a much darker and realistic "ending/epilogue" to Pico's life. It was depressing, but horribly accurate in that it's very unlikely for a kid who killed many with a shotgun to grow up perfectly okay. Next, there was the progression of events that involved Pico running into people from his old school (let's admit it: the world is small) and get flashbacks of his past that given even someone who hasn't played Pico's School an idea of what happened. Reasonably, his old peers are frightened by his appearance. There were many things I loved about this, especially at the end when Nene appears to have finally decided to confront Pico when it was already too late, showing how timing is often messed up in life.

Thanks for making such an awesome animation and sharing it with us. I'm... going to go sit in a corner and think about life, now.

I thought this was a strong short because it was expressive on mood and interaction alone without any need for talking. It doesn't have any mind-fuck like Evangelion, but the style of how it transitions from current events to flashback imagery reminds me of it. I think it works well as a sequel of sorts after the events of Pico's School. It's depressing, but imaginative.

I first played the original game years ago when newgrounds was getting started and I've always remembered it. Your short is just fantastic, it has to be one of the best I have even seen on newgrounds and anwhere. I guess it my just be that pico is so iconic and a personal fav. Great stuff, just great!
