Fun little management game!
It's a satisfying feeling once you get to the point where you can sit back, put on a fancy hat, and watch your little restaurant/beer empire grow.

A cool game which changes in character as it goes: you start with nothing and gather and upgrade your way to managing a group of workers and building your own tycoon. In the end you will have helped a gnome who found himself in a pinch on his way from rags to riches.
The game features original gameplay, two difficulty settings and in-game leaderboards for players to compete for the best completion time.

sorry, it took some time to notice this - it turned out Mochi ADs went bankrupt (quite ironic by the theme of this game I must say) and closed all of it's functionality down . We used them to keep the completion speed times.
Luckily we predicted such an event happening so scores were also kept in our own repository. I'll just do a quick rewrite for custom leader-board display in the coming days so all of you who play Gnome Rises from time to time or just stumble upon it can enjoy it for years to come (or at least until Flash itself goes under... :P ).

It took me a few tries, but eventually I discovered the secret was to build a pier and get a worker fishing on it asap and to keep him there, then build a fireplace and get a worker in there smoking fish. Get a worker collecting wood and then feed yourself and the workers on the fish and sell the smoked fish at the shop. Just buy worms, its much faster than getting them yourself and once you upgrade the fishing pole to level 3 you wont have to worry about not having enough food for yourself or workers. Then build a farm and a brewery and once that's working get a store house and a restaurant. If you have the Gnome doing all the work then your playing it wrong, the way to win is to delegate tasks to your workers. The Gnome should spend most of his time at the bench sending workers where they need to go, or in the shop buying more seeds and worms.
All that aside I hope the Gnome gets back on his feet. :( I hope you make another game like this as it was a great management sim. :D
Really cool management game with nice upgrade dynamic and interesting strategic components.
Platform-style interface is quite fun - you feel the rush -, but could have used more polish.
