Our old TVs have returned from being scuttled into space and they have made a sport out of killing humans!

Play as humans to fight waves of Raybots OR play as the Raybots and build new robots for humans to fight. The best robots will be added to official campaigns! Also note - that campaign list has a yellow scroll bar down the ride side, with a lot more campaigns down below!

Big thanks to Mike for all the programming support with the API and drawing tools. Big thanks to Stamper for the player select music and menu sprucing. Big thanks to RicePirate for the intro and select screen voice. Big thanks to all the testers who helped build Raybots!

A or Z = Primary Weapon
S or X = Secondary Weapon
Arrows - Run, Jump, Drop through platforms

In human mode you can earn trophies and compete for high scores in the campaign mode. You can also browse the Boss Files and discover bosses not featured in the campaigns! Your letter grade is based on how much health you maintain during battle. Your score is based on a combination of health and time throughout the campaign.

In Raybot mode, you can edit your level, draw your own robot face, equip hats and hands, customize your weapons and record a pattern. While recording a pattern, hit SPACE to open the exit, then walk over the exit to close your loop! Every boss is a looping pattern. You must TEST and defeat your boss in order to save him, otherwise it isn't fair sport.

You unlock hats and hands by voting on the Raybots you fight in human mode.

In Raybot mode, some weapons have alternate versions. For example click the bullet icon multiple times for different bullets, or click the bomb icon multiple times for different bombs. Remember, you can equip both your A and S key weapons! When customization sliders are available, give them a try and see how it impacts your weapon.

Tap your "M" key to toggle Mute.

UPDATE (2/8/13): Turns out there was a massive teleporting bug that could result in you not being able to open the exit and close your pattern loop. I imagine this is the cause of the complaints about that issue. It's fixed! You may need to clear your cache.

Fast paced and a simple concept that combines creative aspects on one hand and heavy platforming action on the other. While this game defiantly shows its strengths, it also shows a few weak points.
While yes, bosses are supposed to be typically more powerful than the player, the power balance here almost feels unfair at times. While yes, you MUST defeat the boss before it can be posted, I feel that at times some battles are just luck. The other issue is that the secondary to the human players, the flame thrower, might as well be a pea shooter because it does next to nothing, only buying me time until I have a power shot handy since it is all I have. Human players shouldn't have as large of a weapon base as the raybots, but they should have something more than a cigarette lighter.
Level designing was a total breeze with it being both simple and easy to work. Pattern programming feels a bit hit and miss though. There are times when I would like to pause at a certain point to let myself think about what I really want this raybot to do, but instead I have to pump all the commands in one go, making what could be a very neat boss design look and feel like it is missing something. If we had something like a pause feature in pattern programming, I feel we could see some more inventive bosses.
Overall, a impressive game that will prove itself to be fun to many, but before it can expand its audience, some more tweaking is needed. Heck, I could even see this being a good XBA title just on its own as is... though I still hope to see the above fixes, nonetheless.

EVERYTHING IS GOOD, but the exit won't open on safari, and it works on chrome. NOt only that, but I don't seem to be able to use the new arms and hats I unlock..

Has a slow-ass load time, but super catchy, with quite interesting controls. Would recommend.

Awesome game, loved the concept, but I can't create a battle, Ican't click to test my battle cuz it keeps requesting for me to do a pattern, I keep repeating the pattern until the timer goes off, am I doing something wrong?

TomFulp responds:

While doing your pattern, hit spacebar or the "R" key to open your exit - you need to exit where you spawned, to create a loop.
