You have fallen into a vast underground maze. Can you find your way out, or will you end up trapped in darkness forever?

We recommend playing in a dimly lit room with your speaker or headphone volume turned up. It's best to play I Can't Escape late at night, as it is an eerie exploration experience.

Troubleshooting: This game requires flash player 11+. If you don't have flash player 11, the game will tell you, and you should download it (for free) here: .

If you get the error "requires 3D hardware rendering," that means it's not running on your graphics card for some reason. Try right clicking the game, clicking settings, and make sure "enable hardware acceleration" is checked in the display tab, then refresh the page. If that doesn't work, try updating your graphics card driver or your flash player version.

If you're using windows 8, cheese123 mentioned to me that he couldn't get the game to run unless he ran chrome in windows 8 mode. If you're using windows 8 and having trouble, you can try that and see if it makes a difference. Thanks a lot to cheese123!

If you are still having trouble playing the game, feel free to send me a PM!

Want to know if it's possible to escape? You can check out this video: .

I made it to the end! BTW I really doubt if its possible to win, since every ladder, visually trapped or not, is actually a hole! I saw multiple ladders without visual holes on the first level, but they all leaded me down (where I found ladders up which actually DID take me back). If it is possible, then please say it to me in a PM, davidmaletz. Great game, but needs improvement (like new floors, A HUD showing floor level, keys etc. and maybe even a multiplayer mode) .

davidmaletz responds:

You're probably falling through hidden pits - while I call them hidden, you actually CAN see them if you look carefully. If you can't recognize hidden pits, you wont be able to escape! Almost all ladders on the first floor are inaccessible, you're not going to be able to escape easily, but it is possible - you can see me escaping in this video: (but the video makes it seem easier than it is!). As for the improvements, a few people have suggested a HUD, but I feel like it's not necessary - you're supposed to get lost anyways! You'll have to keep track of the level number and keys yourself haha.

I have no clue what I would do with a multiplayer mode for this game, if you have some suggestions, send me a PM! Thanks for the review and the suggestions!

I am asked to slide the slider till the black box is barely visible, so I slide it all the way to the left and guess what? its still super visible.

davidmaletz responds:

Haha, you must have a very bright monitor, or very good eyes (or both). When I slide the slider all the way to the left, the game looks almost pitch black! Just play with the slider all the way to the left, perhaps reducing your screen brightness a little. You'll have a slight advantage as you'll be able to see everything better, but that's ok!

Very nice. LOVE the atmosphere and the graphics aren't half bad. Maintains a good creepy atmosphere and gave me several jumpscares. Really immersive. However, I'm almost positive that the game can't be won because I figured that the only way out is at the beginning where you spawn, in front of the locked door with the ladder on the other side. I actually got a key and went back to the spawn point to unlock the door but it wouldn't open, so I don't think that door is actually supposed to open and you just can't get out. Also sometimes I fall through the ground even though I KNOW there wasn't a hole there that I could see (the round black spots on the ground). Might just be the game trolling me, I dunno. Either way, good game!

It's odd, but the eyes on the wall at first were disturbing, but as I played they almost became a comfort, knowing I wasn't completely alone down there.

Assuming it was the goal, I fell as far as I could until I was trapped between 4 locked doors. I was almost glad to just lose and be done with it. Not "terrifying" but nothing I'd want to play for more than a short while without a break (though it clearly has addictive properties to it).

Reading some of the comments (plus the title) I assume the game is endless, or is at least it's one of those "Slender" type games that gives you an addictive puzzle to solve with little reward for solving it. This isn't a bad thing, just not something I enjoy at length.

Good Game though.
