A game I made for Ludum Dare 24. Theme was evolution, and so, you can see some of the evolution of games.
It isn't really polished, I was horrible with the spritework, and there's no music, but it's all I could accomplish in 48 hours.

Controls are displayed in the background of each level accordingly.

PS: Sorry about the sliding!

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this really old school type of game!
Reminds me of the good old days of computer gaming which you executed very well.
I feel that you should have no apologies in any of the following departments: graphics, game mechanics, sounds, etc., because the older games that we all used to play were extremely difficult and made us better gamers because of it!
I really hope you make another pixel game like this, and with more time than 48hrs to spend on it, I'm certain that you can make something spectacular.

Nice concept and pretty original in terms of "evolution."
I didn't like the controls - they felt messy and the sprite's movement was slippery.

The whole background breaking/pixel deterioration was spiffy and I liked your sprite work (even if you said it was bad).
The sound that you DID have was nice and complemented the game just fine.
