yeah, you know what? i do hate kanthor
this game was getting on my nerves so much, not even games like "give up", "cat mario", "unfair mario", "the impossible game" or "world's hardest game" could hold up
but it wasn't even that difficult, it was just so easy-looking for a platformer and it got difficult very fast with shooting enemies that hit you no matter what or enemies that walk in three different speeds and sometimes fly away half a screen if you hit them, sometimes they tank it out and sometimes just charge straight through it.
to be honest, the whole thing wouldn't have been a problem if i was a bit more careful, but this game just didn't seem to deserve it. nevertheless i'm going to give you 5/5 so that other people may have the same bad experience that i had for the past hour.
ps: i was going to use a lot of swearing words, but i'm too lazy to write even more for this effing game

Nice game! The upgrades were tricky to get at the start, but as the game progressed, so did the amount of coins. At first the fact that there was no way to regain HP was a bit annoying, but with all other upgrades it wasn't so bad after all. The monsters are all unique, move in patterns, challenge in different ways. the fact that you move back 5 levels if you die both annoys and adds to the challenge, but since I did beat the game I suppose the difficulty level isn't too high. I like the pixel graphics and the simple fighting system, it was a fun run!
I'm going to start by saying I didn't like this game, but hear me out.
I saw what you were going for, and you could have done it so easily but you just... failed. First of all the controls are okay, the placement could have been better but for this game, the controls work. The jumping for some reason doesn't feel right. I like the graphics except that they look awkward. But what I think was the worst, was the player hit detection/hit animation. The hit detection sucked, no matter how good you are at dodging you will get hit by objects not even close to you. The hitting sound and animation were worse. You could hardly hear that sound, so you should make it louder and more of a THUMP then a *blip*. Also the grey thing was nice, but turning red would have worked better. And also, the player doesn't recoil from the hits. The other enemies do. THAT IS BAD.
As far as gameplay, I got used to it eventually. I liked how the same floor design could have different enemies. For some reason the boss music plays even after you die. The user interface was weird and bad, and upgrading feels clunky, and the achievements lie because I DIED A LOT AND I DIDN'T HATE IT.
All in all 3/5. You could have done better, and the end product was mediocre, but I know what you were going for and I'll be honest I had a bit of fun playing this.
Fine and inspiring 8-bit style graphics, I can agree with other posters; could use more levels, enemies, more upgrades and perhaps some special abilities/magic attacks be used would greatly improve this game. Great work!
