I just spent 10 hours of my life playing a, in itself, repetitive game where you have to spam certain keys and just watch the screen.
The game is kind of fun, although there's absolutely no real dynamic aside from the spamming and seeing your archers obliterate everything (I even tried to play it smart, until I read about the archers - then it became to easy).
The "random" levels were ok, although I didn't really enjoy them (especially the random ones, that was horribly made because you had to restart 5 times until you eventually got it) - although it was the closest thing to breaking the routine in the game.
What this game taught me though, is just how pathetic my life is. If I spend 10 hours playing a dumb game (2, 2, L, 2, 2, L, 2, 2, ...), then something is wrong with me. Instead of taking a book, get a girlfriend or go hunt for treasure, I just literally KILLED my time with nothing. Same as watching TV.
After seeing that it's been 10 hours I was shocked and hope to take a lesson out of it.
Final word would be, either make the game shorter (for the weak-minded like myself) or add some deeper gameplay mechanics. Such as retreat, hold position or even the ability to control unit types (so my kangaroos aren't in front of the turtle i.e.).
If the game would've had 1.5 stages, I would've definitely given it 5 stars. But since I feel time-raped, even though it's my fault, I have the feeling 3.5 is more than fair.
I think this is the best game of it's type from the ones I've seen so far.
I think the author clearly left out any of the things that made the other games worse.
I see no attack/retreat controls for units which makes management more important, the hero is no longer a tank though can slightly be used as a tank, and losing him can not be afforded.
Different modes are introduced to make it less boring and repetitive.
I'd say great work on the mechanics and very decent choice for graphics and system!

One of the best games here. I haven't played such a good game for a while. You'll just love the story , the setting , and the Paladog. :D
