Daily 2nd place, frontpaged, so many kind reviews and such a nice rating! Well, thanks a lot guys, you're awesome! :D

EDIT: This game was inspired by 'Motherload'. It is about mining ores and selling them to buy upgrades and drill deeper. Utopian Mining is part of this mining genre, so the games share the same basic concept. However, I did my very best to make it different to other mining games, by adding a different atmosphere, a story, some quests, cartoony-8bit-graphics and another feeling to it (and some other small stuff, too).

I hope you enjoy playing it. :)

Welcome to Utopia!
A few days ago a storm destroyed nearly the whole town.
Help these people and find out more about the Core-Ore...
Mine around as a mining robot, earn money, buy better hardware and complete missions.

This game has a few missions, different upgrades for your robot like drills, chasis, cooling liquids and batteries, awesome music made by Kevin MacLeod, some selfmade 8bit sounds, and lots of coal, iron, gold, wolfram, smaragd, ruby and diamonds!

How to play:
'LEFT', 'UP', 'RIGHT', 'DOWN' - move around
'X' - interact with things
'C' - cancel or leave
'J' - jobs
'M' - map
'I' - inventory

the game seems to be very glitchy in the way of upgrades,a prime example is i have more then enough to buy both cooling liquid IV & the supersize battery, but the game seems to think ether i already have them or have a supirior version(which i know for a fact that all the things i have are only level 3 rather then 4) and wont let me buy them

there needs to be an easier way to recharge/repair,like say at the shop you can get consumable items that repair or recharge you so you dont have to go all the way back up to the surface

speaking of energy,i feel that your energy shouldnt drain as fast as it does, what i mean is that your energy seems to deplete while just roaming around underground at the same pace it would while your are drilling, which makes no sence since just walking would use less energy then drilling(unless it does and i just dont notice,if thats the case then disreguard this bit, please)

also,i have a bit of a problem...its just a minor annoyance:
when you buy a new battery your energy is fully restored which makes sence cus well, its a new battery so it starts off fully charged, yet when buying a new hull level, your health dosent get restored?

in the way of minerals,i for the love of me have no idea how to pronounce the green mineral's name X|

& mabye its just me,but ruby & iron seem to look identical,so when i was mining for the....green ones i just ignored them, only relising i was wrong after accsadently hitting one

UPDATE: i realise the reason i mistook ruby for iron is because the further down you go,the darker if gets so there was little to no way to notice it wasnt iron

anyway,i JUST beat the game and i can say,im glad you get to keep playing after the last quest

overall,pretty good game

5/5 + 9/10 + faves

Good take on a mining game, the only downside I found was that the cooling liquid was fairly useless until the last one which lets you explore the last half of the map, maybe make it a little more constant with upgrades.
Also, I can't help but think after saving the town they shouldn't live there, it can't be safe with the huge mining system beneath them~

I personally loved it! I liked the retro feel to it, and it took me a while to actually mine enough to beat it, so it kept me busy enough. I just have one thing to say about it, you should add more jobs after the final one, that way the diamonds have some sort of purpose other than just for money. Also, I didn't QUITE like how you just put the sand in there for one mission, it seemed pointless.

Add in some jobs after you actually beat it or more main missions during the storyline, so there is more to do, and give some of the things you added more meaning and purpose in the game, and I think you will have true gem of a game! :)
