Well i thought that i was gonna be a flamer when i told you i didnt find anything deep in this but i see that other reviewers think so too..
I found the tale really shallow, i mean a guy sees woman , no sex, murder..
:/
3 stars just to keep you going on better games :)

AlanZucconi responds:

Hi RAXUS13!
Don't worry... if you express your opinion in a polite way, you are not a flamer. There are quite a lot of flamers here, but I don't classify you as one of them! :-)

If you actually look at the first review, you can see that lot of people really unravel the message that is inside RAPTUS. It is not just the story of a man who is killing a girl because she is not having sex with him. This would be quite pointless. :-p

RAPTUS contains several metaphors, and almost any aspect of the game is somehow related or connected to a deeper meaning. Of course, if you play the game expecting it to be a game, you will be quite disappointed.

I realise that, since it has been features on the first page, lot of people who didn't like this type of experimental games started to complaint. RAPTUS is designed for a very specific target. Making it available to a bigger audience is great, but of course, it means that the "ratio" of people who can understand it, is dropping dramatically. :-p
However, I wrote a comment to Serann (just under your review) that explains some of the aspects of the game. Hope you will find it interesting! :-)

So...

This is a story about a guy picking up a girl he thinks he loves because she looks hot.
Let's be honest, the only thing you fall in love with on first sight are the looks, that's
fact. He then proceeds to invite her to his home, gives her the most overused gift
ever and expects sex.
Upon not getting it, he murders her on the spot and goes on to hide the body.
Afterwards, I gladly sent his crazy ass into the water before he hurts anymore people
that look pretty. And all the while this music played, as if there was something deep
going on. Something deep? This is friggin' disturbing. That guy should be behind
locked doors, but I guess death will have to do in this case.

So now, I am supposed to believe they are united in death?
I seriously doubt the girl would want to spend anymore time with such a plain, crazy,
homicidal *****, even in death.

So why only 2.5 stars? For one, because I feel like the intention was to make the
guy sympathetic. And that's just all kinds of wrong. That would be like a flashgame
depicting Caligula as a nice, pleasent guy.

Another is how dreadfully slow the whole thing is. I know it's supposed to wake a
mood, but given how fastpaced media is, this is more annoying than thought
inducing.

I mean: I see what yu did there. You tried to copy ASG's style. But it just didn't work,
sorry. For a first flash game, it was well made, but the story and the concept just
don't work in my opinion.

I'm sorry pal, but I think you do have potential, and you certainly shouldn't give up.

AlanZucconi responds:

Thank you for your review!
I like negative feedbacks, especially when they are constructive as yours.

The dynamic, however, is much deeper and subtle than a simple "a guy who is killing a girl because she's not giving herself to him".
The first part of the game is trying to make you realise that the character has his own will. You are not the one that control him, although slowly realise that when you click and the screen shakes, you are somehow affecting him. You are pushing his will. And, with the right amount of click, you can bend it and take control over him. This is a metaphor or how emotions sometimes can decide for us. I am sure that we all have episodes in which we made something, or we said something, just under the "rampage" of our rage. It's like if in a moment, our emotions take the control.
What happens in "Chapter III" is that you click so strongly and for such a long time that you actually drive him crazy.
The entire game is intentionally designed to be slow. DAMN SLOW. I want people to feel the frustration of "Oh God... moveeee onnnn!!! Go fasteeeeer!". So that they can finally release their "pressure" with the click rampage.
There are quite a lot of other subtle messages and metaphors but of course, it's hard to get all of them. Someone did, and I guess this is enough for me. :-)
I will publish a much more detailed explanation of RAPTUS later on. Hope it will make you change your mind. Maybe just a little! :-p

Wow...Indeed. Its an emotional game. You hate him, but you at the same time feel pity for him...Death is what he deserves.

AlanZucconi responds:

Hi LittleNerdGirl!
I take your point of view.
But... in the end, you are the one who forced him to do what He did.
So... ...isn't this enough to relief him from a part of the guiltiness? :-p
