im sorry to everyone to like it but i thought this song wasnt good it the lyrics were not that great and its not my style of music to begin with but i thought the animation itself was good
I find this super-processed style of singing to only be appropriate for comedy tracks. This clip isn't really funny or serious, it's sort of in this black-comedy area, and I think that the vocals totally destroy the atmosphere created by the visuals. The art looks great (even though the animation is minimal and repetitive), and the color palette is grim and stylish, and really most of the instrumental music isn't bad, but then there's completely un-emotive mechanical voice over the top that totally pulls me out of the mood.
It's very inexpressive singing, and this voice doesn't seem able to convey any kind of real emotion or personality beyond slack sarcasm, which is why it works so well for silly tracks like "Kenya" or "Melons" or all the others. It seems like a joke vocal, and that if Weebl's name weren't attached to it everyone would be quick to complain about how bad it sounds. I see the single is available for purchase... I can't imagine that anyone I know would want to listen to that monochromatic nasal droning at the gym or on the bus or whatever.
That said, I love the synth riff happening during the fadeout where there's no vocals, it's fantastic. And I love Weebl's other stuff.
