LOZ: Four Parodies

Author Comments

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who actually had something constructive to say, i'm keeping everything in mind for future animations. Also i'm aware the story/jokes are weak, but i'm not a writer nor am I trying to be.

This is my first attempt at doing character animation aswell as mouth syncing and animation.

Ive been wanting to do a legend of zelda parody for a while now so, its divided into 4 short parodies, all with seperate plots, if you havent played the zelda series I apologize for you may not get the jokes, and if you are fimiliiar with the zelda series and don't get the jokes, than once again I apologize lol.

But anyways, hope everyone enjoys :)

I thought it was great. the jokes were thought out and executed properly. I did think that the art was weaker than the animation, though.

The first and third shorts were actually kinda funny but past that it could use improvement. Not bad but you seem like you do better. It's mainly the humor that's lacking, not the animation.

There is defenitely room for improvement.
Let's start out positive, i like the style. Characters and surroundings are simple and yet they pop out, creating a movie that's easy to watch. also the animations ( like the running or walking) were nicely done.
The things i'd like to see improved:
First of all i'd you should improve on your facial expressions. The shopkeepers face seemed frozen to me, when he should be infuriated with anger from link destroying his shop. Another example would be that link didn't look very annoyed when he failed to get tinkle down on his first few tries.
Secondly would be perspective. The animations would look nicer if you added more depth in it. The lava could be an example for that. However, what annoyed me the most was the guard in the door opening in the 1st flash. That was no matter of perspective but that just looked wrong.
Thirdly (and finally) a bit of a personal argument, but I'd advise you to go more over the top with the humour. Parodies are done often and dont even mention the material we have on the legend of zelda. You got to make sure your parodies pop out! Otherwise it will be forgotten in a dark corner of the internet.... (angst).
Also, I didn't find these parodies very humouristic and predictable even, but thats a matter of personal taste.
It's quite a bit of criticism but remember i think you did a good job in general, especially for a first animation. I hope you'll improve and make a name for yourself! I'd like to see that happen!

I apreciate the critism, i've already been working on drawing out different facial experssion to make characters look even better. As far as the depth I'm still working on figuring o ut the best way to do that, I stared at the lava for a long time before I decided I was spendingg way to much time on one thing. And the jokes were kinda weak I realize that, doing some reading on how to create a proper story/script for animations.

The 2nd one was the best.

Not very funny or very good. The best part was when Link shot Tingle, but then who doesn't want to shoot Tingle?
