Your galaxy has been invaded by melodic celestial bodies, and you've been tasked to save it. Bullet Audyssey is a rhythm-based shoot 'em up where you must "Survive the Beat." Absorb enemy bullets and fire it back at them, slow down time, upgrade your ship and level up.
We wanted to try something new using music as a template for the game mechanics. Many thanks to the incredible musicians on NG, where we got more than 85% of our music.
We hope you guys enjoy it!
Quick Controls Explanation:
- WASD, arrow keys, or numpad to move.
- Z, comma (for WASD) or SPACEBAR to shoot.
- X, period (for WASD) or SHIFT to slow time down.
Many apologies for the long loading time (it's a music game after all). Make sure to try out the tutorial while you wait!

Great beats, great game
Well before I understood that the beat actually controls the attack style, I quickly figured out that a pretty calm intro followed by a brief pause meant the real shit was about to go down. The game and the music deliver perfectly in-sync, and the music is pretty nice original stuff. Lovely upgrade system- all seven of the upgradable stats fit neatly together, though I especially like the rationing of ships. I had to set -2 as a hard limit for myself for how bad I can afford to do in any level, then drive that number down in previous stages after I'd accumulated enough skill and power in order to proceed late-game. I love the difficulty curve as well as how fun it is to go trounce earlier levels that gave me hell when I was half as strong.
I actually thought it was too hard (yet fortunately quite addicting) at first. And it would've been if not for two very important factors/tips for those who've never played the game:
1. Don't shoot for gold with every new level. In fact don't shoot for gold with any new level. You're supposed to get that by going back after you've leveled up enough. Which will occur with the natural flow of the game.
2. YOUR HITBOX IS ONE PIXEL. See the white dot in the middle of each ship you get? That's your hitbox. So long as an object doesn't touch that one pixel, you'll be all right. And you can fly right through the speakers. This only dawned on me during the credits, wherein I figured out I couldn't not take five punches from it if I couldn't slip between the letters.

wOwza!
Great music and concept! I'm not very good, but I keep playing. I appreciate that even though I have to keep playing a level over and over again :X that there's a separate leveling bar that gives me an edge to help me win with subsequent tries.

whoa
Am I wrong or just every stage is compatible to every song? Cuz when I played one with different song stage was rly harder lol.
Game is gr8 but it have a glitch :( Sometimes when you move your ship like "one click" ship is moving like you hold an arrow button. Too sad. Lost many lifes on this... But w/o it game is wonderfull, I will be rly gracefull if u will make a sequel.
It's rly hard and sometimes you need to learn how circles move, I will never pass "Auriga 9" without ship lost... :< Tyvm, best spend 2hours on this mouth by me :D Peace. 10stars
