This is the first actual flash animation I've ever done, so be nice :). Any tips or suggestions on how to improve my animation are very, very welcome.

This was actually an anniversary gift to my girlfriend. It's my artistic interpretation of how our relationship began about a year ago. I originally had much more planned for it but due to time constraints I had to cut it short.

Thanks for watching!

I like how you've used a variety of colors on the outline of your animated drawings.

That audio portal track used in the movie was very beautiful music and conveyed a sad mood.

The boy and girl lacking color before finding love was an interesting choose of imagery.

It was an interesting first movie.

I'll look into your other movies at a later time.

Thanks for bringing your movie to my attention.

Very nice for a first animation.
You managed to convey a very cute story in a short amount of time.
I think the backgrounds could've used some work, having them gain colour with the characters might've worked to your advantage but i understand from your Author Comments that you had some time constraints so it's understandable, you worked with what you had and made the best out of it.
Good job.

Hey, thanks! Yeah, looking back on this if I had more time I would have taken it much further. It was a great learning experience in time management too, haha. I appreciate your kind words.

First words out of my mouth:

"Whoa, this is really good!"
I also said "Aww" when the girl took out and offered her heart. She was cute, especially her eyes. I loved how you filled out the color of the characters to symbolize fulfillment; even though it's something I've seen done before, it fit very appropriately and felt fresh. I don't know much about animating, but my tip is to avoid the "shaky lines" that the characters had. When standing still like that, it was kinda off-putting to see the characters' lines morphing continuously. It can be done well in certain circumstances, but I think it didn't quite fit with the simplistic style. Hope that helps. Nice job!

Thank you! I really like the sketchy, uncertain feeling that the "shaky lines" give. Do you think it works in this animation when you consider that after they are filled with color, the lines stop shaking? Or was it just too much?
