The Anthem of the Gamer.

The World is Saved is a new epic song and anthem for video game fans. Made in the pixel-art style of SNES (Super Nintendo) cutscenes, this video was a collaborative effort from IGN's Podcast Beyond community. IGN's Ryan Clements pulled together a small team of volunteers to animate a video for Danny Wiessner's latest single. The video debuted at the end of the live recording of Podcast Beyond Episode 200, which can be viewed here: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/118/1186511p1.html

Just not my cup of tea, I guess.

I'm a gamer, so I definitely understand the emotions you are trying to put across, but the song just didn't hit me as hard as it appears to have hit everyone else. The animation was very good, props to the artist, but the song itself didn't really feel like "a new epic song and anthem for video game fans" to me. The lyrics seemed a bit thrown together, or at the very least like a rhythm-less poem tacked onto a tune. As I said above, it appears this song just isn't my cup of tea. It seems like a likable enough song, just not something I'd particularly like to watch or listen to again, or show my friends.

On a light-hearted note, I was half expecting a "FINALLY I had been trying to beat that damn final boss for FOUR GODDAMN HOURS" to work itself into the lyrics during the early bit. At least, that's what it generally means when I finish a game in the wee hours =P

huh?

What's going on newgrounds? I'm the only one who find this flash gay? C'mon we're all gamers here, but I don't feel myself "hero" or something like that when I finish a game or I stay awake until morning just to do it. I'm no hater, so I gave 6 just for the decent animation and the pretty good music, though I don't see the point why we, gamers, should recognize ourselves in something so exaggerated. The real Heroes do something to make the world a better place IN REAL LIFE.

A sad and also happy reality.

I´m a avid gamer and soon, a game designer... games are AWESOME, much more than a movie can be nowdays in any form... but when gamers like me come to reality again, the life at the game changed the world, but sadly, not your own.

I say... a truly masterpiece of music, art direction and animation this flash was... yes yes...

but the "low" score is because that I think the MOST IMPORTANT PART missing here is that gamers CAN CHANGE YOUR OWN WORLD, GET IN BIG ADVENTURES , SAVE PEOPLE and BE A TRUE HERO... but this time for REAL. In any way YOU CAN.

Just like the games, it´s AWAYS up to you.
