You know what's awesome? Geometry Wars and Raiden Fighters, that's what! And 1942 as well...

So here's a little bit of bullet hell that's an homage to some classic shooters.

Arrows or WASD to control, with Space to Bomb.

Frenzy mode's the most fun - it's pretty much mayhem from the start.

Whilst I enjoy a lot of newgrounds shooters, these days they all seem to be about buying upgrades, and then hiding behind a wall of bullets.

I wanted this to be a different experience - the upgrade is that the player's skill improves as they play (though I did put a scatter-shot in RAIDEN mode).

Anyway, hope you like it! Feel free to comment, of course...

PS: I've made a bunch of medals, so hopefully they'll get approved...

My mind is completely blown right now by the awesomeness.

The music, the spaceships. The neon effects of everything. Probably one of the best space shooters I've ever played in my life.

It lags because of the intensity of how awesome it is. Enemies everywhere!

Perfect for me!

Pretty fun...

But the Lego Man and Pac-Man medals are broken.

Little too easy

This game is actually designed pretty well, and it's nice to see how it goes out over time. Probably the thing I found annoying was that it was a bit too easy. For some bosses, I could just stay in the same spot the whole time and they couldn't hurt me! Still, it certainly doesn't have anything bad about it. The controls move very smoothly and with how hard some games here are, easiness can be a good thing. I like the music and the noise you make when an enemy dies.

There could have been some more detail in the ships. It's still nice how they have a nice color to them and really light up the entire screen. The background is flashy as well. I suggest you work harder next time but you definitley have the right idea in terms of design. It was also nice how the ship shot the enemies on its own.

Good Shooter

This game is really different from other Shooter / Vertical Flight games here on NG. I gotta admit, I was rather skeptic about a shooting game without upgrades, but in this case it's working just fine.

By including different game modes you create a lot of variety, I personally like the classic shooter mode (normal). Even on an older PC (like this one right here) the gameplay is smooth, the soundtrack fits just right for this kind of game.

The graphics are odd, no doubt, but I like 'em and smiled at some of the jokes, like the giant Space Invader. Oh, and just to let the others know, that robot is no Power Ranger nor Transformer, that's Voltron if I remember right.

Well, you brought back some childhood gaming memories - Thx!

Good times

Ikaruga is one of my favourite games...

This lacks Ikaruga's complexity, but in the end is no worse for it. The simplistic graphics really somehow make get you into a simple thought process, so you're just flying around like crazy trying to dodge bullets and bugs and see what stupid boss is next...

Why the hell would Voltron be unable to fight back? And I assumed the Final boss of the internet would be Charlie SHeen, actually...
