Before anything, I should probably apologize in advance for the swastika shaped bullet pattern. That was unintentional, and I never got to fixing it. There is no meaning behind it, just a goof/oversight.

What you are about to play is a project that is at least two years old. At the time, this was one of the most
complex things I've ever made in Flash. Times have changed. This project also marked a long hiatus for me and Flash. I'm posting this in it's current state because it has no hope of being finished. I just want people to play it, nothing less, nothing more.

This game started as a small experiment in how much crap I could fit on screen at once. At the time I thought it was pretty successful. Most games of this type (in flash) could only fit 4 or 5 bullets on screen with out slowdown, I could do 80! It could also run on a horribly old computer at a full 30 FPS. For me, a kid at the time, this was a pretty big flipping achievement.

Some random trivia, the ship with the arms that spread out is called an Angel. This was way before I really got into Evangelion (the anime). Though I did watch it back on Adult swim years ago, I'm sensing some subconscious inspiration.

It should be no surprise that this was inspired by Japanese bullet hell games, though I have never played one, I just saw a video of one on youtube, and BAM!, idea.

Have fun!

Nice, but I agree, it should be finished.

This has the potential to be something very awesome. I understand I do the same thing, work on something and lose interest to a bigger project. I tend to make "mock ups" as I call them before I make the actual game. Hopefully this is a Mockup for something even bigger in the future.

Well

Should be finished. Love the music.

FlamingCow responds:

Yeah, totally agree. Who knows, maybe in a few years I might flat out remake it ten times better. As of now, I just lost the will to do anything with this. But it has no use on my harddrive, so might as well share it. If someone had five minutes of fun, then that's a win in my book. About the music - yep, possibly my favorite Portal song. Cycerin is a genius. Actually, he probably deserves half or more credit for this, since this song helped inspire so much of it.

It was ok

good for an idea that came off a whim. not bad for being 2 years old, but as it is incomplete... there is not much to say. It was ok.

FlamingCow responds:

Yeah, I didn't expect to get much out of posting this. Hell, I didn't expect it to pass judgment. Thanks for the comment!
