I made Reimagine coz I was bored
SInce then my popularity's soared
But then it'll plummet
At Flash Gaming Summit
When I lose the Mochis award

Reimagine first greets you with faceless celebrity caricatures hopping around the sides of a square, as you realize the GRAVITY of the situation. Everything around you... is part of the game.

From Super Meat Dress, to Double Rainbow Double Jumps, to The Bieber Booty Call, to iPad iGravity, to Groundbreaking Earthquakes, to Apple-ture Science ...

... To MUSICAL PARODIES such as Somewhere Are Double Rainbows, Tik Locke, and EMIN3M BIEB3R...
... To the twelve-ish cutscenes of animated havoc and hilarity...
... To the nine-ish minutes of original soundtrack...
... To the twelve medals that artificially create replay value...

... And to YOU.
The more challenges you complete, the more you can customize your own character in the CHARACTER MAKER. When all the challenges are done, you can play AS YOURSELF. IN. THE. GAME. ...And you realize...

Everything about the game... is part of you.

Space is general action key.

You can reset a level through the Pause Menu, (Press P) as well as Mute, and change Quality.

And if you're still stuck after a minute of trying, don't worry, press S+K to skip the level.
It will still be there next time you come back. Waiting. Plotting. Calculating your next move, silently.

EDIT: Misc fixes, and added two new unlockable Faces: Creeper & ZALGO.
EDIT: Level puzzles have been simplified, and character's walking speed is faster.
EDIT: You can press S+K to Skip Level after a minute of trying, because... well...
EDIT: Skip Cutscene button, misc fixes, and also FLUTTERSHY and RARITY in MCFDA12-8 and CharMaker.
EDIT: Portal Gun for the Character Maker... I can't believe I FORGOT that.

Reimagine :The Game: is perhaps one of Newgrounds' most ambitious, yet underappreciated hidden gems. It is the third installment in the :THE GAME: series by NutcaseNightmare, and while the previous games in the franchise had their humor and replay value come in the form of purposefully redundant (and hilarious) level designs and achievemtns, respectively, Reimagine throws a few curve balls at anyone who is familiar with the previous two games, while still keeping the trademark charm and wit this series is know for.

You play as a plethora of unnamed, face-lacking, armless hopping caricatures of pop culture icons and people, whose sole purpose in their meaningless existence is to get to the end of a stage, and occasionally commit suicide in order to do so. The way the characters and the stages are handled is very funny and fast. Nothing feels re-used or recycled, and each stage can be easily told apart from the rest.

The humor is handled very well. This game was released mid-2011, and all the references here feel fresh and still funny, even in 2014. The way these levels are built make it so you either blaze through them very quickly, or stop to look at the background and see lots of funny background images and writings, all related to the level/subject at hand. The comedy never feels forced or in your face; it's not subtle by any means, but it isn't Irate Gamer levels of in-your-face-laugh-at-this-unfunny. In fact, i don't think i stopped laughing at ANY joke through the course of the game. THAT is an amazing feat.

The controls are very simple. You move with the left and right arrow keys and jump with the up key. Pressing down no longer makes you duck like in Replaying :The Game:, although it didn't even have a practical use in that game. The space bar acts as a general action key, used for stuff like advancing through level transitions or changing forms in certain levels to progress. Levels take no more than 3 minutes to complete, and the game as a whole can be beaten in less than 20 minutes. The current speedrun World Record for this game is a whopping 13 minutes and 23 seconds, and that was with lots of deaths in a level, so don't expect for this game to take long to complete.

There are also achievements and medals in the game, which are good for replay value. Sadly, some achievements and medals can only be gotten by sharing the game on social networks, which means 99% of this game's shares are mostly for the sake of getting ahievements, which is kinda sad.

The game has a total of 12 levels (15 if you count the humorous cutscene intermissions) in the game, and 9 of them are linked to achievements. Some levels require you to complete the entire level without dying once, other require finishing the level in a certain amount of time, and other require SURVIVING the level hazard for a specific amount of time. These achievemtns aren't too hard to get, but still add a bit fo replay value if you miss them on your first go.

The game also features a bitchin' soundtrack, with over 9-ish minutes of original music composed by someone (i forgot their name, sorry!). There are only 9 tracks in the entire game, but they're still worth listening to, even if nearly all of them are just 1 minute long, they're still great atmospheric and hectic pieces that truly give this game an extra layer of brilliance.

However, even if this game is awesome, there still are flaws. The main one that annoyed me through my multiple playthroughs of the game; THE PHYSICS ARE OFF-THE-WALL BONKERS. The physics engine in this installment is ver different from the previous games. Now that levels have the ability to rotate and other shenanigans, you can abuse the faulty physics engine to exploit the level design itself to get to the end faster, like climbing up a vertical/rotating wall with the very fast mashing of the Up Arrow Key. You can do this exploit as early as THE SECOND LEVEL IN THE GAME, WHICH IS LESS THAN A MINUTE IN. Characters also wobble around more than they did in :the game: or Replaying :The Game:, which makes certain stages and objectives which require you to jump on other characters' heads unnecessarily annoying. One particularly guilty example of the faulty physics is present in the Tea Party level, which involves you jumping into water from multiple bags of tea to reach higher areas via momentum. The only problem is; the character's mid-air velocity and control is shat on TREMENDOUSLY, which makes landing on the next bag frustrating as all hell.

The second complaint is that the game is WAY too short. It only takes 20 minutes at most to complete, which basically means you'll be beating this game VERY, very quickly, which can sometimes be a bad thing for people expecting more content of a production of this scale.

Reimagine's new game mechanics can sometimes work or not. The new speedy and bouncy gel mechanics from Portal 2 work, because they're integrated with the levels they're in and make sense to be there. The Super Meat Dress mechanic also works, because it's easy to use and, again, only appears in very few levels. The only mechanic (and level) that frankly doesn't work, is the BP Oil Pelican mechanic. Basically, you hold space to wipe up oil with a pelican, but Oil acts as Slippery surface, which can sometimes fuck you over if you're trying to clean off a small platform covered in Oil. You need fully oil-coated pelicans in order to activate fire barrels, which you must use to advance in the stage. Through some pretty complicated trial-and-error, you'll eventually beat the stage, which requires manipualtion of the oil's trajectory via fire barrel flames, which sounds easier than it actually is. This is perhaps the only level in the game that takes the longest to complete, and even the speedrun World Record has trouble with this level's design and mechanics.

In closing, Reimagine :The Game: is perhaps one of the finest satiric action platformers Newgrounds may have ever seen. The (mostly) finely tuned game mechanics, creative and engaging levels and great sense of humor and satire bring this game to life like nothing else. Despite its few shortcomings, Reimagine is certainly a treat. Any Newgrounds user worth their salt must experience this gem at least once in their virtual lifetime.

-Unique and inventive level design
-Simple and easy to learn controls
-Game is short, but sweet
-Music is fantastic
-Achievements and speedrunning potential add replay value
-Excellent comedy and satire of the mid-2011 World

-"BP :the game:" is poorly thought out and drags on for too long
-Inconsistent and wonky physics engine
-Short lenght might turn some people off
-Some achievements require social networking to get]
