One Chance is a game about choices and dealing with them.

Scientist John Pilgrim and his team have accidently created a pathogen that is killing all living cells on Earth.

In the last 6 remaining in-game days on Earth, the player must make choices about how to spend his last moments. Will he spend time with his family, work on a cure or go nuts?

love the game

but there's pretty much no way to win this game. you either spend all of your time with family and they die and you die, or you spend all your time working and everybody except you dies!

At first I actually couldn't get the guy to move, but after a quick refresh I got into the game pretty easily, as you'd expect.

Nothing really matters here because your interactive narrative and story itself are so tremendously well thought out. Sure your graphics and controls are basic or limited, but obviously these features are merely the pretty packaging hiding a deep and moving dilemma.

I love your idea of no replay feature as it really weighs heavilly on the mind, that if this situation were to happen- what would you do? I found the path I took told alot about me as a person, that i would fight until my last breath, even if it was a futile choice.

I really am lost for words as I wouldn't change anything, your music creates a very serious but somewhat eerie mood that matches the content very well. I would say though that perhaps you could have done some type of atmospheric sound(s), such as in the beginning you could have the busy street hustling and such, but as the final day approaches you get gunshots or alarms. This path may be a bit cliched and it might detract from the focus you should have, but it's just a thought.

Very well done.

I made it.

but i have to ask- are John and Molly the last two living things on the planet once the cure was discovered?

Loved it.

I felt sort of empty when i got the ending where you and everyone else dies.
i feel sort of cheated that we cant redo the game, but lets look at it this way. There are no second chances in real life. this game is by far the most realistic interpritation that any game has ever given me. Make's the "bad" ending all the more tragic. instead of one of those simple "oops, you dies, wanna try again?" you get "you and the rest of the world died, now deal with it." which is far more realistic.
Felt cheated, but thats the point. and i loved it.
