Clever all over
I thought what you said was good, I like the animation, the narration was good. Also, I thought your end credits were very well done, which is something a lot of people don't do. And lastly, the rick roll was very well done. I must admit I was caught unaware.
Thanks for the positive fedback.
Well done - we figured most people wouldn't even notice the Rick Roll (it is kinda subtle).
Why does one penguin actually get a nationality (Japan) while the other is only given a continent, without getting. Also, if he is South American, why is he wearing traditional Mexican clothing? Mexico IS NOT in South America! In short: please give your characters equal and reasonable treatment when it comes to countries and/or cultural background, because that is a touchy subject that can be offensive.
Also, the video was pretty funny, but after a while I realized that all the penguins would do is bitch about Facebook. That irony made it less enjoyable.
It's funny you mention the South America / Japan thing - we a actually wrote a few gags where the characters pointed this out, but ended up dropping it. There was also a gag about how Wang is not a Japanese name.
We gave him 'Mexican' clothing because it was more fun to draw.
Personally, I find these conscious inconsistencies funny.
The intro was a little off putting and I turned it off before it even started because the whole penguiiiinn penngwaa or w/e it was saying was really like being 5 again and watching teletubbies, sorry.
Irony is always lost on some people...
Congratulations on pointing out to the world how short your attention span is. That intro is only 8 seconds long.
