For Ludum Mini-Dare 20, with the theme "Greed."
The concept was interesting, but the constant looping audio was downright painful and made me eager to finish every 'level' just to get rid of it. As for the game play itself, a concept like that could have been interesting if it had decent art or at least some sort of conclusion or story payoff. generally, I wasn't the slightest bit impressed, I'm afraid.
This game has no meaning, as much as some will desperately look for it. Several grammatical and spelling errors are present, which would suggest that this game was either rushed or just not bothered with very much. This COULD have been an interesting game but, it isn't. It's pointless.
But there's no substance. What, exactly, is the player other than a parasite? The creature that escaped at the end looks anything but human. The theme is greed, but what is the message? Greed is bad and destructive? Sure, okay. But again, exactly what happened? If the player is reborn as a weird parasite that eventually bursts out of its host and kills it, who's to say that's greedy? Maybe that is the creature's nature to live exactly like that, and if it doesn't, than it will die itself. I'll bet that didn't slip into your humanocentric (and reasonable and justified) worldview.
Although the presentation was sharp, the content was lacking, and what content exists was uninteresting and confusing. Bad luck, Chuck.
