EDIT: Thanks so much! I didn't check this for like a week after the bad score and totally missed my second front page! All of harsh comments don't really bother me too much. Perhaps I'll make an even longer one for all of the haters...oh, sorry, I meant "hatas."

EDIT 2: This is definitely an underdog.

I haven't uploaded anything here forever, so when I had to make an animation for a final project, I was excited to finally show you guys some of my new work! This is probably the most FBF intensive thing I've ever done (which isn't saying much).

The concept is basically this...

The hole represents the link between our inner selves and the outside world. The ghosts represent all of our...well, ghosts. After the release, we sometimes our able to reach out and strive for things that we haven't been able to before. Unfortunately, though, sometimes our prior actions have a way of stealing the things we want the most.

Make sense? No? Eh, whatever.

Hope you enjoy it! It's pretty brief, so it won't waste too much of your life at the very least.

i do have spome thoughts

first off, i give it a 5 because i feel like the abstractness of it deserves some credit. that being said... to me, being an artist means capturing an ideal, in a way that both interests the viewer and can be interpreted in a number of ways that can hit a multitude of audiences. this does neither. this is my opinion, if the piece strikes a nerve in you and you think it deserves more credit then maybe it does, but not without speculation.

Meh, it was okay

Graphics were nothing special, and it was rather short.
There's potential, but you just didn't put enough work into it for it to truly stand out.

Hmm.

It is simple but simplicity does not preclude depth. Ghosts of one's past can consist of many things. An action one feels guilt about, perhaps something that was a scarring experience like an accident or the death of a close person, all of these and more can amount to the haunting "spirit" that can really strongly affect one's outlook.
Not an animator, but I'd guess that the effort that went into this was neither too little or too much given the topic, but rather it touches on the topic without spending too much time on it which is easily just as irritating as not spending enough time on something.
The audio gives good ambience as well

Yes a 9

I give you a nine because I do understand the concept of the piece because I too have these "ghosts" from my past preventing me from reaching the things I desire most. As for the animation... I'm not much of an animator myself mainly cause I'm too lazy, but I do think theres room for improvement, other than that I totally understood your concept.
