Awesome Animation

I like the way you drew everything and portrayed the characters.

i like ur vid good job

Pretty good stuff.

It's a pretty good flash, and you got some of the big points of the bible. I gave it a 9/10 because there could've been more, and it just wasn't PERFECT. Oh and by the way a very common misconception is that when people were crucified, the nail wasn't inserted into the palm of the hand because the nail would slip in between the flesh, and free the person, instead the nail was hammered into the middle of the wrist.

It was neat and all..... but it was boring at the beginning.

But besides that, it was da-bomb.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

pretty good

it was interesting enough for me to watch the whole thing...and thats considering that I'm not a should probably add a bit of wordage to this flash to explain the basics of what we're seeing...for someone that doesn't know the first thing about the bible or christianity, this flash will leave them confused...if nothing else, adding little scriptures to the scenes would also help add more of an impact to what we're seeing...

What was the point?

The art is good, hence the 5/10... but what exactly am I supposed to be getting from this? I mean, it's a very hurried retelling of some of the highlights of the bible. So what?

I mean, if you went through a hurried retelling of Lord of the Rings in the same manner, what would be the point? If you're thinking this has evangelical use, that's misguided at best; I didn't pick up some of the scenes, and the ones I did pick up were ones that I had prior knowledge of. What use is a movie that you have to explain after the fact, for evangelism?

In short: the art work is good. Try to actually tell a story next time rather than mashing up everything and hoping.

The animation wasnt bad... but it was basically the edited version... here's the torah and the new testiment without all the really NEAT stuff... where's the rampant sex, violence, and fun wrath of god stuff. Call me dated if you will but... it's just not any fun without a rating of R or better. Next time try a story people don't know way too much about... viking, mongolian, tibet, anything.

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Not bad.

Think the bible is abit to full on to compact down into a short animation.
Animations and music were good though.
Sorta makes the bible look even more of a classic fable also.

well im not religious but i found this interting enugh. i like the shot of jonas getting eatin by the whale. I also find it kinda ironic, if adam and eve had stayed away from the frobiddin fruit that god told them humans would have nvr leared shame and we wounlt need to clouds in that shot of them would we :P (well acourdng to the bible).

Goes along well!

I loved the smooth animation and the style you used to go though the bible. Very nice. Long flash.. nice looking. I know the bible but im buhdist now.. but still.. nice.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Very NIce

I'm not a religous person by any means but that was an amazing animation and it showed very good representations, to my knoledge, of very well know events in the bible. My hat is off to you Chris this is an amazing animation.

Im an Atheist...

Lol, the animation skill was okay, but Im an atheist :D
But i guess Newgrounds is for everything by everyone, so i'll throw up a decent rating for the animation quality

Nicely done

I like the concept and I think most of it worked pretty well. It was almost like a movie trailer for the entire Bible. Some of the scenes didn't work as well. In particular I think the whipping scene looked almost like it was in fast forward, perhaps a single strike of the whip in slow motion might have fit the rest of the animation a little better? Keep working on your drawing and animation skills, I'd like to see more.
By the way, the nails would have gone through the wrists, not the hands themselves (the wrists were considered part of the hands in that culture).

Rated 5 / 5 stars

nice animation

anyway Christianity is not a religion

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Full 10/10

Your animation and music should be compared to plain chicken and spices. Individually they would be boring, but together they are perfect.

This was very, Very good. Do more like this.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Way to go.

Now you just need to create a part two with the rest of the major events. The Revelations could be fun to do!

As I watched the film, I was kept on thinking "okay, here comes the dick joke Jesus mockage" but there was none of that in which I shall applaud you for not only a beautiful animation, but because you are one of the few people who act on faith which is evident by this very animation.
Keep animation, I like the style of art and the lighting, and you'll only get better.
Peace be with you *Diing Diing Diing*

With all my heart i loved this animation to bits!!

For a Made up book by a Breakaway Jewish Cult....

It's a rather nice animation.

this a perfect representation of the bible. well done and good luck on future subs, keep it comin'.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Lived. Died. Suffered... for us.

Amazing! That was a beautiful representation of the Bible. Keep up the good work and stand strong in faith.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Love it

amazing representation, all hail!

Skipped a lotta stories I'd like to have seen, but the it's huge so I understand. Well done, enjoyed it plenty. :)

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Im not christian, but I still liked it. Represented the bible nicely, nice animation, etc.

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

not that much of a Christian, but liked the graphics alot :]
and who wrote that script? abou the man with the boat, and the big fish? XD

Rated 4 / 5 stars

Nice Fairytales :D

Although i am an Atheist i wont rate based on my religious beliefs...

Animation 7/10
Story... ehm lets rate as if these things really happened... 7/10
Music 9/10

Rated 3 / 5 stars

Eh ok...

Not much else besides music, but I like how you synced you animation with it, and thats the only reason this would be good without words.

The drawings were alright, but nothing fansy.

3/5 (if I could choose it would be just about 3.5)
And maybe 6/10.

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

Overall: Great

- Bringing a Christian message to a place like this.
- Decent animation skills (better than mine)
- Appropriate choice of music.
- As one has already said, you skipped major parts (like the life and times of King David).
- Some inaccuracy (biggest I could see was Jonah)

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Pretty good, just not superb

The animation was nothing to rant and rave about (although the art style was pretty good) and overall it just seemed like you missed something (especially since you skipped from Moses to the life of Christ..... MAJOR SKIP)

The music selection was good tho, and the sync was pretty good as well.

Rated 3 / 5 stars

wasnt expecting this

sorry for being a raging atheist, but i was expecting this to be one of those flashes that poked fun at christianity.

but whatever the case, it was okay...
you chose quite a touchy subject to do a flash on, and some of your audience may rate according to their stand on the subject.
thus.. an unfair rating.

your art needs a little work, to say the least.
you seem to avoid drawing faces and fingers whenever possible.
colour choices are a little... poor in some scenes. like when moses splits the red sea... it looked as if he was splitting ice, not water.
quite a bit of stock animation being used. like you only drew jesus i think, once, and kept using it from the loading screen, to when he was on the cross, to when he acended to heaven.

in my opinion, to a christian such as yourself, i believe that you should have put in a little more effort into the flash?
but who am i to judge...

i wont say the music is great, (because that'd be insulting as its the only thing not done by you)
but it did fit your flash pretty well i must say.
an interesting piece, but i'd avoid such topics when it comes to making flash if i were you...

(i can see a fellow atheist few posts below me also rated fairly.)
cant say the same for those who thumbed him down as "useless review"

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

A rather good flash and enjoyable music. The music was actually really nice and I found the animation in itself quite excellent.

Even though I'm not a practicing Christian at the moment, I appreciate the message this is sending. My only qualm is that there is plenty of Biblical and secular proof that Jesus did not die on a cross. I don't find it worthy to debate that here, but regardless a minor nuisance to an otherwise "decent" display of Bible canon.

Very good summary.

I thought this was very good.
Excellent Flash and summary of the Bible.
However, I think you skipped soem pretty big chunks.
Maybe if you showed Jesus Teaching others and perhaps some of his miracles?
That would patch up the void quite a bit.
Anyway, thanks. This was a very good flash.
As a Christian, I enjoyed it.

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

Nicely done! Thought the flash was great and the summary was not bad.

It seems like everyone on the Internet is anti-religious, but you are an exception! Even if you are not religious, it is great that you made such an authentic tribute to the Bible. I mean, if nothing else, you have to give it credit for being the world's best selling book! The best thing about this is that the animation was so good. There was no dialogue because you really wanted your story to show rather than tell. The thing that swallowed Jonah was in fact a fish and not a whale as you seemed to show here.

Since there is so much in the Bible, I knew it was unlikely you would get to all of it. It did kind of feel as though you skipped from Jonah to Jesus. Then again, those parts of the Bible are not really that well known anyway. This was a nice choice of music and my favorite part was probably Jesus ascending up to Heaven. There was nothing mean-spirited about this in the least, just an authentic tribute.

dude that was a awesome animation and it's watching the Bible

Rated 3.5 / 5 stars

Pretty good, the music and animation are well done, though you skipped a ton of stuff between Moses and Jonah, and Jonah and Jesus.

Rated 4.5 / 5 stars

i was a bit confused but as i watched it the second time i understood....ur animation was great it showed how jesus christ sacrificed himself for us and the point were people were going to cross the river by the help of moses was great....but the point of the ten commandments i was not so sure who recieved it.

Rated 5 / 5 stars

nearly perfect accuracy nut the idea was so great i can give you no less the a perfect 5 only inaccuracy i can see is that jesus was NOT crucified on a cross but on a stake (not like a vampire...) with one nail through both hand witch were pulled above his head. great animation too. keep it up bro.
