Arrows to move + Jump.

Pilgrimage is a game about abstraction.
More info is present in the game, under "Artist's Statement" if you're interested.

Enjoy this short, bite-sized game!

This game, though short does cause many philosophical questions in my mind. I interpret it as the personification of letting your mind wander in a day dream you can't leave until you reach the abstract end which always confuses you and everyone else. If a simple platformer can make someone think like that, it was obviously made by a philosophey god. You deserrve an award.

"i have a different interpretation"

I think as jason got further and further away from humanity the pixels were getting less and less modern. therefore as if at the end straying from electronics completely due to the fact that he was starting over... starting a new age. thats just my interpretation but i dont think too hard im still in middle school

"interesting"

humanity strives toward the future, boldly holding onto their own "individuality". what they fail to realize is that their uniqueness was molded by the society they left behind. in the hopes of building something new, they instead recreate what they already know. that is what i got from this game. eh was exiled and strove to create a better society, but wound up making the same theng. he left "bitworld" only to return to it.

"Nice idea, but could have been more..."

I never read the "Artist statement" behind the game. Instead, I choose to interpret it in my own way. While I do understand and appreciate the basic concept behind it, I felt it could have been much more. As is, the game was your basic platformer, with solid, but basic, controls, and decent music and graphics. If you could have expanded this basic concept of abstractness in a better way it would have made the game much more interesting.
