**************** Be sure it says v1.5 on the title screen to ensure you are playing the latest version ****************

After the huge response from the Ultimate Defense series, I have decided to take it one step further and create a strategy RPG spin off.

You begin the game as Kronus, a young aspiring knight, who is asked to aid his grandfather in getting rid of some critters that appeared in his yard. Choose your missions and travel through the land unlocking hidden treasures, engaging in battles, visiting cities, and looking for new recruits to join your party. Good luck on your quest!

Glitch!

I've found one, when you try and move a character from behind another character (i.e. through) and there are no options of going round, the game freezes and you have to quit. I found this out on the sandos dunes by trying to move the character on the top corner down past another. There was no alternate route, and the game froze with the yellow position selector still up. Apart from this (which was damn hard to find) I think you've done a real good job. A couple of things: the animations take up a little too much time, especially the enemy ones, and when you move and select a direction, then attack, you stay facing the direction you attacked, which seems to render choosing a direction a little pointless. Finally, difficulty settings would be good, make how it is now easy, then increase damage and item prices by 1.5 for normal and 2 for hard (for example).

Brilliant work though, an excellent addition to your portfolio.

Good Game, one problem though...

Its a good game, the main character reminds me of Ogre Battle. I like the FF tactics style of the game, though there was a bug at the start of the game where I had to defeat the monsters in the garden. The garden snake attacked me, it dealt 5 damage, but I died and I was at full health? It kept on repeating every time I played it, I even tried reloading the game, still the bug was still there. And you should make the attacks faster as mentioned below by McFish. Great game though I couldn't play it, and It is a tribute to tactics games like FF tactics haha! Gave it an 8.

Great FF Tactics Clone

But, like everyone says, it's too slow.
I offer a few suggestions on how to make the gameplay at a better pace.
1: DEFINITELY make a regular attack very quick. Remove the dark fade and slow down for every hit. Regular attacks should be as few buttons as possible and should not be cinematic.
2: Probably make some hotkeys for commands. If they press A+A, it should be Action -> Attack, and there is no need for an extra selection of "slice."
3: Some of your characters have way too much health. Anacondas are a pain in the ass. Same with the black beetles. Neither of them hurt, but they are so hard to kill. I would much rather have something hurt me much more but have much less health.
Also, my knight did not have much more defense or health than the other two. Archers and Mages should be much easier to kill (since they're not plated in armor).
I hope you stick with the isometric tiling RPG though, I'm very impressed that you pulled it off!
