A lot like the Final Ninja games from Nitrome, I like this as a more cute ninja game. The controls are just a smidge harder to control, but I got the hang of them pretty quickly. Very good overall.

I think maybe an arcade survival mode with endless enemies in an arena type stage would be pretty awesome! Also A story mode with actual objectives and such would be nice... and maybe some cool boss battles. This series is already awesome without all that, but there is alot of potential in incorporating some of the extra stuff as well. You have a great imagination for creating unique gameplay, so I think you could find a way to come up with some innovative game modes.
