Avalancher

Author Comments

Avalancher is a physics-based game that involves protecting an eskimo from the deadly force of an avalanche. Gameplay involves 3 steps: finding a safe haven, building a protective igloo, and then hoping for the best as the avalanche comes crashing down the mountain. There are twelve different slopes to unlock, with varying difficulty, and points are awarded based on the amount of health remaining after each avalanche as well as igloo efficiency (building a smaller igloo gets more points, but provides less protection). Each level can be replayed as many times as desired, and progress and high scores are saved so that players can come back to play more later.

Good Effort

Its a good Effort, little bits could be better, the Positioning of the Walls could be more like the positioning of the little Dude. Also I won a level despite being crushed between two boulders? lol, But great Game

Quite good, room to improve

An excellent first attempt at a new idea, but a couple of things about the physics of the game didn't click. First, I noticed in the lemming leve that once the avalanche begins, in order for the eskimo to stay still the surface he is placed on has to be perfectly level...if I was an eskimo I think I'd be able to plant my feet or something and stay still on an at least slightly inclined surface. Second, in several levels, the eskimo got bumped around a bit ending up on the top of the settling boulders, but took no damage...in your defense he could be a resilient eskimo or something but I found that a little off, personally. The last thing I have an issue with is the broadness of the safe spots to include anywhere that would superimpose the eskimo on the mountain itself or a tree. While it is fun to purposely make the eskimo fall into the gap in the level The Gap a few times, in future versions of this game concept that I hope to see it may be a good idea to limit the area in which the eskimo can be placed to avoid accidental insta fails and avoid unneeded fall damage, possibly highlighting the safe areas that actually are in fact safe by coloring them differently from the rest of the background or something. I hope this helps, this is actually the longest review I've ever made to date lol.

Neat

Like it! These puzzle games never fail.

great game

could be harder with more levels. u need to fix some of the glitchiness (i got sucked into a snowball on one level :P although it did make me win so meh)
