But not a ten. You have a valid point, but an equally valid point is that while they are simple in form, they are simple in context.
The idea was to make the most absurdly simple thing have a deep and enthralling backstory. It is this conflict on a most basic level that creates the profound humor.
This stuff is funny in the same way south park, and monty python are funny.
Oddly, you actualy hit the nail on the head. But instead of the excessive-to-absurdity approach, yours stayed serious. This hurt not only the Buzz this shit was creating, but the validity of your argument, by cheapening it.
Now, if you had thought of some fresh angle (in regards to the animation style) from which to present your argument, it probably been more favorably received.
Now I thought that it was also nice of these "masters of flash" (take that as you will) to make some thing simple that any one could do, to show how easy it is to make quality flash. It'd be like Hendrix dressing up the Ittsy Bitsy Spider a bit, teaching the chords to some struggling musician, and then stepping back and seeing where that bird flew. It's sweet actually, and kind of made me like them more.
While you are entitled to your (very pointed) argument, I think you are kind of missing the point. This is whimsy, it's not meant to be serious, and you kind of are making it that way with this flash.
