It doesn't know what is touching most of the time, and sometimes things on the other side of the board are touching.

Fun, but highly improvable

The main idea behind this game is almost as old as puzzle games themeselves, so I cannot give you credit for that, but I think you managed to give it a nice little twist. However you need to work on your physics engine, and on the hit detection. Sometimes there was no apparent reason for a box to suddenly grind to a halt and go diagonal. And the game is sometimes very picky about what counts as colliding and what doesn't. Another nice feature would be if in later levels the center of gravity would change.
