It's FINALLY FINISHED!! God has this project bin in development for a long time; I was starting to think I wouldn't get it in for 2008.

This is a contemplative art game I made where I try to communicate what I went through with a life experience I once had. I really put my heart into this one, and I think it leaves me very emotionally vulnerable, but as long as I get my message across I think I'll be satisfied. I won't explicitly outline what the game's ABOUT or what you're SUPPOSED TO take away from it- I'll leave that up to you, the player, to make your own interpretations.

Now I know that some of you will be asking about a sequel, and believe me my inbox is allready full of suggestions for DUCK SIM 2009, but as I've mentioned in many interviews, I don't really BELIEVE in sequels. Saying that, DUCK SIM is planned to be a trilogy. I'm experimenting with this new episodic games trend and I think DUCK SIM is a perfect candidate to test the water (pun intended).

Thanks to everyone who offered help and gave support along the development of this, I am in severe financial debt to alot of people right now, but I'm confident that this is step 1 to making it all back.

So for anyone still reading this, I'll stop biding time and let you enjoy the game- Although I don't like calling it a "game", but more of an interactive experience.

Oh- Also, can you please report any glitches to me by way of either PM or E-mail, thank you.

"An insightful critique of human nature."

date: October 17, 2009

The auteur provides a highly effective metatextual and intertextual commentary on the nature of human relationships, introversion, and communication in the new media.

The sparse visual design serves to draw the interactor's attention all the more forcefully to the structural aspects of interaction, while simultaneously referring back to other works of the contemporary era. _DUCK SIM 2008_ explores the nature and extent of the relationship between rules of interaction and ontological substance, while simultaneously critiquing the semiotic utility of interactive rules in the post-hedonic context.

Brien's opus reflects on its predecessors in the new form, examining the extent of their successes and of the intrinsic strengths of the medium itself. In all, _DUCK SIM 2008_ is well worth taking the time to accept the invitation to reflect on the past and future direction of the state of the new media medium, both psychologically/sociologically, and in terms of the postmodernist arts as a whole.

"It took me four and a half hours..."

date: October 1, 2009

...but I finally reached the Dragon's Den. But as soon as I walk in, my plasma rifle disappears, and the Green Dragon eats me. I'd think it was a glitch, except I always get this "Duckroll" warning beforehand. I enjoyed the game immensely up to this point, and would love some help getting through to the rest of the game. Thanks. :D
