Newton's Cradle

This game was derived from a Newtonian physics engine I built. The grey space station follows your mouse as Newtonian physics pull everything around. Don't crash anything into anything else, except for crashing the red planet/moon/comet/whateve r into the yellow "star." You can also send me your level ideas!

Enjoy!

This is a re-release of my old game, "Newton's Forte." For some reason, NG wouldn't allow me to update the Flash file. Sorry!

The game has been completely updated. There are now 20 levels instead of ten, and I've added graphics, music, and sound effects. Also, you can now have fun with the logo: try throwing the planets on the front page!

hmm newton??

physics is one of my subject this school year..
wish me pass.
hmm... its nice but alil bit cool

Well Conceived

Newton's Cradle is a large step forward from your previous instalment.

The detail {although still limited} has increased the depth to the experience. The grey circle has become a meteor with a hole in it {or the "death star"} and a few black spots give the green and red meteors some crisp sharpness. You could still add more effects though like comet trails or glittering.

The music track is still perfect. It seems spacey and emits a deep feeling of endless swirling. Of course it is to each individual's taste but it's a necessary component to any flash game.

The basic concept of the gameplay is fantastic but it can be limiting. It's the type of game where you really need a variety of environments to make it feel deeper than what it actually is. You should include difficulty levels because the game is too hard for some players. You could simply reduce the speed of all the meteors to allow the player more thinking time, or increase it to acclaim for perfection.

But until you do that there are still a number of basic flaws in the editing.

Firstly upon collision the music quietens down and does not recover. Try to avoid your sfx interfering in the music level.

Secondly make your title and instruction pages neater. The title is barely readable and it looks really amateur. It would be a shame for players to be put off by your title because it doesn't convince them that the author is making a decent attempt - when in fact he's made a pretty good game.

It's this which is holding you back. Look at other highly rated flash work - look at the way they use colours and simple & clean text on their text both on titles and in-game.

It's still a good twirl though.

Sweet

Level 3

Could do with "level 1" "level 2" title things, but tis cool
And as others said before more surprises goals rewards etc :)

its ok

maybe create a wall because when the red body gets out i cant get it back and after that there is no point in playing.

scikidus responds:

That's why there's a "RESTART?" button in the lower-left. It's simulating physics. If you exert gravitational pull on the red planet and cause it to fly out the of system, then that's what happens.

Good job.

Good job, although I didn't succeed in making it past the first level (even once!), but still. Creative concept, too.
