"Good concept but poor game system"
date: July 13, 2009
This game had potential, but weak game system holds it back. The biggest problem is the mana system:
- If you upgrade mana regen fully and do not upgrade initial mana at all, your mana regens at a very fast rate, even when you upgrade the max mana during battle. In fact, your mana regens so fast, you can get 9999 mana in about a minute.
- Conversely, if you upgrade initial mana fully and mana regen not at all, you begin with a good amount of mana, but your mana generates extremely slowly. Again, if you chose the earlier upgrade path, you'll be getting 9999 mana within a few minutes of gameplay. If you upgrade both mana regen and initial mana, you'll be somewhere inbetween - better than the 2nd build (initial mana only), but worse than the 1st (regen only).
As a result of this problem, if you spend points on mana regen first, you can easily beat the game without losing a single battle. While doing so, I think you can win most if not all battles just by spamming riders (the 5 MP unit). If you don't upgrade mana regen, or upgraded initial mana by mistake, you'll be struggling for a LONG ass time.
Looks like someone fucked up the math equations!
Secondly, the enemies aren't that interesting, and the storyline isn't that good.
