A side-scrolling action tower defense beat-em-up!? Crazy!

Build up an array of towers, strategically using the terrain to your advantage.
Power up your fists and buy new combos, tearing through the invaders.
Combine the two techniques to build the ultimate defense.

"It's a defence game?"

date: October 13, 2009

I felt the game was too easy up until the scoring round. Buying as many thorn towers as possible or upgrading your attack power as much as possible results in getting to the end of the game. I didn't particularly notice that there was something to actually defend until the last round, it just felt like a beat 'em up until that point.

If there was an option to go right to the scoring round and then let you buy upgrades and build towers then it would have felt much more like the defense game it is advertised as.

On a positive note it is pretty entertaining and beautifully surreal in its art style. It also has a great potential of being strategic if the game lasted longer.

As defenses go, not too bad but not too good, as a game itself it's entertaining for a moderate amount of time. If you are interested in achievements then your gameplay time is more than trippled. If you are into highscores, then the system is pretty good, not too many scores that it's impossible to get into the table, but not too few that getting a position means nothing. Finally, while the music fits the game very well, with only 1 track it gets mindmeltingly irritating after a while.

p.s. Can YOU defeat Joe?

"Beautiful and engaging"

The simplicity of this game is wonderful - anybody who has played a Tower Defense game before can pick up the strategy quickly. The towers themselves don't do anything new, but rolling boulders into pits is great fun when a tornado makes sure the invaders get crushed. The variety of the invaders was also fun; suddenly having a swarm of bobbing green alien skull-like things was awesome.

I would have liked another music track or two, and maybe slightly more currency given out. I felt like I wasn't always as prepared as I should have been, but that might be player error.

Good game.

"Excellent."

As usual the forever games are excellent, and they will hopefully continue to be. This game has an absolutely stunning visual style, great idea and pretty good gameplay to back it up, what this game lacked that was different from you other games is the same addiction that makes it ok to be repetitive, this game doesn't have the same addictiveness as some of your other games, making the game get more boring more quickly. With games like falling forever, and running forever, I could play them, well, forever, but with this game I got bored after 30 minutes or so. It's still a great game with a great concept, and I hope you will build on this concept in another game.

nice game, but it has the same motion problem as hunted forever does. would be much more fun if the walking was less jerky.
