was alright

but the voice acting and animation for an awesome animation needs to be very quck, you had the voice just not the pace. you maybe could of done with sounding a little more excited. make things happen a biut quicker and more out of the blue and you'll get a higher score

a disappointment

if you're going to label something as "awesome" material, it needs to be at least a little awesome and, more importantly, it needs to resemble the awesome-style. this is neither of these things. it has no pace, poor voice acting (just because you point it out in the comments doesn't make it ok), and in 30 seconds i hadn't laughed, smiled, giggled, or thought anything positive, where as most "awesome-movies" cover entire games in the same time frame.
review your source material (the real awesome series) and only then would i encourage you to try again. or, because the awesome series is out of style and closing on death, i'd advise making up some original stuff. but of course, you decide how to spend your time.

Obscure without the awesome

Yesterday we saw a branching out in the NG community with 'Grand Theft Awesome', a tribute to the original Awesome series as created by Egoraptor. Today i was surprised to see another Awesome up but i hoped this could also do it justice. I was wrong.

While your characters were fairly well drawn, the entire story was disjointed and random. Now i know I've not played the game, but in producing a parody on something usually its able to tie a loose but linear version of the story together. While I'll assume you went for random humor in some areas it went too far for me to sit down and enjoy. Writing a more cohesive story would have gone a long way. This also affected the flashes pacing. Awesome style feeling and action comes pretty thick and fast, aiding to strengthen random humor. Action in your version felt like it was just meandering around. Now onto sound.

I know you said your voice acting sucked, this was proberly due to a poor story foundation. Having a flowing funny script to back you up may have helped in getting into the characters more and produced a higher quality. Alternatively being a harsher critic of your own work and doing several takes until you were happy also would have been in your favor.

In the end, a lot of the problems with your piece revolve around the writing. Pacing and voice acting weren't there, we know this. Pacing would be fixed (hopefully) in rewriting, and the presence of a good script would have hopefully inspired you to new levels. It was a far cry from the Awesome series that a lot of us know and love. On a side note, you also failed to mention Egoraptor, a common oversight you share with Grand Theft Awesome. However, its author was able to make commendably fast amends to this issue.

Hope you'll take this the right way and use it to the best of the abilities I'm sure you have, and create something truly awesome next attempt.
