Make sure your version of Flash is current. If game runs slowly reduce graphics quality. If music or sound gets annoying - turn them off using the buttons in the game.

Expand the Mongol empire and conquer the world. This is a tricky strategy-warfare game - try to wipe out the military of opposing nations. Be patient, as it may take you a while to learn how to play.

Please note each mission is independent of the others. It is not a bug - you can select and play any mission at any time.

Thanks to everyone for their great comments and suggestions. We'll definitely look at making a more authentic (old world map etc) game in the near future.

The game is really good, but I find it too reliant on raw numbers/levels rather than proper tactics and strategy.

The fight mode only works well if you are in proper relation to one another. No amount of Berserk is going to help you if your enemy's individual troops are 5x the level of your own.

Likewise, because there is both a limit on how many units can attack a single one (as well as no benefit to attacking from the back or sides that I could see) there's no real benefit to troop placement aside from making sure they don't get your base. A firm wall of whatever works best for said environment in front of a hoard of archers tends to be the key to victory regardless of scenario or difficulty.

Oh, and why the radically shifting power levels of the nations? If you're on a harder difficulty, a higher power level of a beginning nation can be the difference between absolute failure or victory.

Excepting historical errors
A GREAT GAME

Not bad for a game from 2008, but it's historically inaccurate. The Mongols very rarely used spearmen or swordmen. Most of their army was based on archers on horseback, and they also had a very strong cavalry.

it's a decent game, definitely good for its time and quite good functionally now just one big issue.

the game has a save system? so why can't it save your formations?
the battles are so short that arranging formations becomes the bulk of the gameplay, you can't just send units into battle as is because they'll get swarmed.

i get that building formations is the fun part, but having to rebuild the same formation over and over for battles that don't even last a minute isn't very rewarding, especially since the game has the ability to save progress.

of course this is pretty petty but if a fundamental mechanic of the game isn't fun then the game isn't, especially when age means the graphics and music loops don't hold the game up as well.

but as negative as this review is i'll give credit and say for what it is, it's well built and could be rereleased with modernisations and an auto save feature.

It's interesting to play a history game. It's good to inform you. Granted, I'm not that knowledgeable about what went on there, but it certainly seems nice. The graphics are well done. I can get some good sense of sending my troops. If only I knew how to advance well.

I guess I just have to keep on sending them in the beginning. I also like geography, so I enjoyed seeing that map. The music is fairly nice too. I do think the troops could have been a bit more detailed. It does look a tad dated.
