This game is based on Chinese chess (a variation call blind chess), but has distinctly different rules to western chess. Make sure you read the instructions in the game before you play.

Great game, but not anything like Chinese Chess
It takes a bit of a learning curve to figure out how to use the luck-based piece summoning to your advantage, but after that, this is a really fun and addictive game to play.
I don't know why you compare it to Chinese Chess. I've checked the rules of Chinese Chess, as well as several other chess-like games from different cultures, and it is not similar to any of them, least of all Chiness Chess, which, like "Western Chess", is far more complicated.
Some other reviewers have claimed there is a strong similarity to stratego, but that is not the case either.
It's hard to say if this game is unique in its rules, but I cannot find any other game like it.
Graphics are good, animation could be better.

interesting game
Love the concept, but it is more like statego. Maybe if luck was not such a major factor it could be a lot more fun. I look forward to seeing a second version. Update it and make the board bigger maybe?

Eh?Wt?
I'm a chess lover and basically,it's COMPLETELY different when compared with chess and your type of "Chess".In fact,it has totally NOTHING related to chess except for the fact that the names are slightly alike. There isn't much strategy needed in this game, all your require is the word "luck".I also don't see anything related to chinese chess, and the rules are totally different.I also reckon smaller strength pieces should be able to kill the higher strength pieces.Say,any general can be killed by a mere rookie, can't they?

A great game ruined by a terrible idea.
I'm a big fan of chess. It's a nice game to play when you just want to sit down and do something relaxing. Chinese chess? Sure that's good. Though the abilities of the pieces in the Western version does make it a bit more challenging and at least mixes it up. Zombie pieces? Holy shit yes. Not having any pieces when you start out and having to click on a tombstone to get a monster only to find out that it's your opponent's monster? Worst idea I've ever heard implied to chess. It really pissed me off when I'd click a tombstone and my opponent's monster would pop up. I played half a match without any pieces. I was just summoning his monsters and having them slaughter the few pieces I had. I even made the CPU dumb and he still beat me 7 times because of that one factor.
That one idea ruined the whole experience for me. I'm sure it did it in for other people too. The few people that think it's real great must enjoy trying to fight off half a field of monsters with three pawns. The game would've been great if you had just removed that one factor. The graphics are swell and fit the style of the game. The music can get a little annoying after a while but otherwise it fits the game as well. If you're thinking about a sequel then you might want to remove that one thing that ruined it.
