Imagine being stuck in class, listening to the dull rantings of a professor. Now imagine being able to learn in a more interactive and fun way, at your own pace, and this is where ION and "serious games" hybridize to create fun, educational, interactive experiences.
A patient has just been admitted in the E.R. with symptoms of Septicemia (sepsis). Septicemia is the result of bacteria invading the blood (bacteremia). Presently there are 3 types of bacteria threatening the patient's survival. If you don't destroy them all they will eventually cause septic shock and multiple organ failure by lowering the patient's blood pressure. It is up to you to assume the role of one of the body's white blood cells, a macrophage. You must defend the blood components by phagocytizing (engulfing) all of these invaders!
