360 Space Ball

I have been taking some physics classes and wanted to put what I was learning to use so I made a collision detection program that turned into this game. I am thinking of making a 360 Space Ball 2 if enough people like it. Have any suggestions for a second edition?

Not a fan.

As stated in the last review, it's too much guess then let the ball bounce aroudn for several minutes before it finally manages to hit the goal. Unless you're like me and manage to get the ball on top of one of the walls.... It's obvious that you didn't use an entire object for the collision detection, just the boundary. No worries, though. It was rather boring, in my opinion; there juset wasn't much to do.

Good Idea, Needs Work

I enjoyed it for the most part. Aside from the background music becoming a bit redundant, my main issue was that you required the use of so many odd angles (not even multiples of 5), but didn't offer any kind of in-game protractor to figure out what they should be. Trial and error gets a bit boring after awhile.

I think it would also be helpful if you could somehow input the degree measurements directly (eg, keyboard number keys, or have some sort of drop-down menu for each paddle, etc.), instead of having to drag the paddles with the mouse to try and hit the perfect angle.

DdotDesign responds:

It is possible to enter an angle with the numbers. Just push '.' then type the angle you want and push enter. Or you can select the angle in the bottom right with the mouse. This feature was not not easy to explain in the instructions page but its there.

FRONT PAGE

Awesome game.. Easy to get into, and get hooked on. I got stuck on a level(the first one with 3 platforms and the big wall in the middle...i never was good with geometry and angels) but this is going in my favs so I can come back and finish it. Great choice of music, blends well with the style of game. Overall this is an amazing game. Very nice work.

Liked

This game was a lot of fun and it was simple too which made it easier to get into straight away. I thought that the first couple of levels were nice and easy so the gamer could get use to the gameplay first and then you were able to increase the difficulty at a nice steady rate throughout the levels. The music in the background was good but i also liked how you had a mute button. I did notice a glitch in level 10 when the ball got trapped inside the wall on the left but besides that everything was good. Overall you have done a good job.
