EDIT: I forgot to post this as someone asked if I put the functionability(is that a word?) to rotate the planets when you select them. If you have the type of mouse and can move the scroll button left to right use that and you should rotate around the planets.

Finally, I finished the beta of my solar system. It feels great to complete something like this. There are a few bugs. There not really noticable so I may not fix them.

CONTROLS: To Get a zoom of the solar system Scroll
To get a zoom of a planet Click it.
Theres a drop down menu that tells you what planet your at and where you are in the Solar System. Its in the bottom right-hand corner

"accuracy problems -"

i agree with everything that irvingX pointed out to the letter - except not knowing how to get free from viewing a particular planet :)

try to get the planet sizes right, and the distances - maybe some readout of planet info when a planet is in focus

all in all nicely done - just work out the kinks and i can be great

hope to see it...

"Great start"

I liked it, but I felt it was too inaccurate. The planets are all an equal distance from each other, and roughly the same size. Jupiter and Saturn should be gigantic compared to Earth, and the outer planets should be really really far away. And the sun is way too small! :)

I would suggest adding a feature to allow you to jump anywhere in the system by clicking on the little minimap. Also, I couldn't figure out how to un-zoom after clicking on a planet... I couldn't get free to go exploring again...

This is pretty amazing to me, the way you did the shading effects and the 3d effects was truly amazing...

"Nice Work"

I started working on a 3D space adventure for my next game and then saw this and it totally blows me out of the water. I thought about my planets rotating. then figured it couldn't be done. I also thought about adding lighting effects like shadows and glares but figured it would be too much work. The math makes me dizzy. This is truly ground-breaking. Good work.
