12/03/07 WOW! Thanks for the front page Tom!
06/03/07 Handmation 5 is out already!

The fourth handmation! This edition is based around the sketching of the awesome Newgrounds Tank! Watch my crazy left hand as it draws fine pencils lines with the use of only a finger. This a tribute to Newgrounds, you could call it and I enjoyed making this handmation a lot! So I hope you enjoy watching this. Apologies again for the picture quality and the lighting is a bit crazy at times.

Music is by Arbiter which I though was very fitting seeing as it is the soundtrack to the Tankmen movies

Running length: 1 minute.

"Definetly interresting, however..."

This is the kind of movie that traces its meaning back to the origins of animation and deserves mention as such in this age of computer-generated content. Let's face it, this movie's creator invested a lot of time in its development, and the end-result is believable in its telekinetic drawing illusion. Though I really enjoyed this movie and feel we should all consider trying out more traditional animation techniques, there is one thing that strikes me as not-quite-right: Newgrounds's Flash portal is a showcase for Flash animations, not a showcase for "File->Import to Scene". Basically, this belongs on many artistic communities, but seems a little easy in its "computer graphics" sense for Newgrounds.

Author's Response:

I see what you mean, but there are already loads of non-flash content on Newgrounds, such as Claymation which has its very own collection, Peoplemation, by Dustball and gel and theres even some non animated submissions like the famous Numa Numa Dance. Non flash submissions are a concept which people have to get used to. Flash is awesome, but I think its better with more variety and we should explore different types of media and squeeze every last drop of imagination out of it. This is a new type of animation that I am trying out, I have submitted many flash submissions to the portal in the past and I will continue doing so in the future.

Thanks for the review, it was very well written :D

I have not yet seen the other ''Handmations" but with this one you could have spent more time with.
The artwork was great. I noticed it was done with a pencil. Nice!
