Decided to make a little game of my nephews (Paul and Sean) fighting. They thought it was cool so i turned it into a one/two player and gave it a little intro. What dyu think?

This is wholesome af.

Yo man

A classic!

Inventive, but juvenille.

I liked many of the more novel concepts such as choosing the location and the tiny mode period. Allowing the user to pick their own character really added to the potential interactivity as well.

The biggest immediate drawback, though, was having to endure the waves of childish sound effects and fart animation throughout the fighting. I mean, if that is the quality standard you are going for, then I'll just say well done and leave it at that. If your goals are higher however, I have some suggestions in mind.

First of all, a big factor in any fighting game is the character development. A good example of this would be the inclusion of Link in the Soul Caliber series. If you aren't using famous sprites or media icons, you need to give your characters a unique profile so that users will appreciate the novelty of choosing their favorite one. On that note, I would also suggest more characters to choose from.

I know that file size can be an issue, but a lack of music is also hurting the game's playability. You need to give your audience some incentive to play your game, whether the game is fun, exciting, addicting, or just visually attractive. If you want to get particularly novel, try adding a different loop for each background or perhaps a musical theme for every character.

There are a lot of directions that you could take this kind of game in. I see a ton of great potential in it, if you are interested in dedicating that kind of effort to another one. Needless to say, the animation and effects can stand to improve, but these always do in time. Keep track of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

Thanks for the in-depth review, much appreciated. Was the farting so bad though? The game was made for my nephews and they seemed to like it..

However, i think all your points are absolutely valid and despite this being my first attempt at an actual game not to mention one being posted webwise, i think your criticisms are 100% valid.

Again, cheers. DavidG.

would have been great

if i could play it. 1. when i was reading the controls, the oppent already started to hit me
2. it wouldn't let me hit the oppent. it only let me punch through him without taking away any of his health
