XenoPod has been a work in progress since 2002. At least the story, music, and layout. In October of 2005, Ferriola Studios finaly decided to pick the project back up and redesign it from scratch. Recomposing the music, creating new images, and combining many forms of code to produce what you are about to play.
Keep in mind, this is the demo. The final release may have new music, huds, images, and code. This game was mainly started off as an experiement, to now a project.

A F IN MAZING MAN
Omg this is the best game i have played in so long. Since it isnt so complexed it makes teh game so muhc better and more fun to play. I have all of my friends playing it now and not one has made a somewhat bad comment all of the comments were fantastic. And for all of you who say this game sucks, you all should go and kill yourself because this game is def top five in my charts. Any arguements im me prohockey86. Ill argue up a storm all day. good for a demo
it reminded me of metroid with the monsters and the backrounds. thing thing that sucks about it is you have limited bullets and cant reload.
it's moderate
and so now i'm waiting for the 2nd one that will be improved, since this does have potential. In the structure, i didn't like when you jump of course it's too high, also when you land you have to press the arrow key [bad when your in a hurry or anything] and plus that slug boss and all the other enemies, the way the game is made it makes it difficult to shoot anything basically. Fix and repair, and next time i'll be hooked playing for so and so hrs.
Well, the release of the full version will be for a while, and will "not" be uploaded to NewGrounds, because it may be a larger file. I am thinking about shrinking the game, because for those who are less forunate to have a high speed internet, they will have to wait a long time for it to finish loading. But when it is done, it will be uploaded to the site linked in the game. And yes, there will be a lot of fixes and the code may actually be completely changed.

This is a complete and utter rip-off of metroid,the backgrounds, the item system, the enimes, even the save system is the same, and try to make the guys less boring, this is just really offends me, to see a game such as metroid be ripped-off by somone who has no talent
Ok, well... I knew there was always one out of a bunch, so I'll just make this quick. Going back to the point that this "IS" my first game, and it's not "exatcly" like Metroid. I enjoyed the Metroid series myself, and all I wanted to do was make a back tracking free roaming side scroller. Now, it is difficult these days to make a game in that state. Everybody bashed Castlevania for soing so. But to say that my game was exactly a rip-off of metroid, "I" am offended by you. You obviously didn't see what the game had to offer, and right from the start decided to hate this game because it plays like Metroid. To say there is a saving system? What are you talking about? There will be a password system, which "Everygame" in america usual;y offers. And as for the backgrounds. I'm sorry for placing still images in the back of the levels so it could supply a better feel of where you are and how it looks. And as for the Item system, I don't ever remember a Metroid game that made you use a mouse to open a menu. As for the Monsters, Wow... You are obviously just someone who could care less about the game itself, and would rather talk trash because of the slight feel of Metroid.
I'm very sorry that I offended you, in whatever way I did. But you should actually look into giving respect to those who actually spent a lot of time creating a game like this for you to play. If there were patents for the gameplay to stick with certain games, you wouldn't have anything but Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Doom, and a few other early games. But out of everything, if you believe I have no talent, then whatever. I could care less about what you say to me, you are the first I know of who actually told me that, and from the look of your pitiful review, it may be from jealousy.

well its not the best game on newground,its like paper mario when there turn and the jumping is to high its like there no gravity or something,it still good but it could be much better,keep working on it to make it better next time...
