27/02/06: Vermilion 2: Archetype, out now!

3d space shooter. I've tried to make this as customizable as possible- decide how your ship looks, earn credits to upgrade your stats and use your own music.

"cool one"

date: July 17, 2005

it was a pretty good game, nice style and original with customizing the ship, but the gameplay itself was a little easy, a bigger challenge would've been good... but overall, it was a lot of fun.

Author's Response:

Thanks, hope you like the next one too.

"Boring..."

date: June 25, 2005

Not to be mean, but without a storyline (as I previously suggested), the game is meaningless. The graphics ran my copmputer down (a good computer).
The next version should be less graphically oriented.
Here's an idea for the story:
You are a fighter pilot who just finished getting his plane redone (hinting the customizing). On your way out (of the enormous building), the government facility becomes invaded by aliens or whatnot. It must then be your duty to destroy them.

---Please do not use anything Star Wars related. Seriously (I hate Star Wars)---

I hope this will help on a sequel.

Author's Response:

Sorry but story isn't much of a focus in the next game (which IS under construction and looking amazing). I had considered adding a small story element in the next game though, so I'll keep your ideas in mind.

As for your Star Wars comment, I had actually considered a Star Wars level in the next game. Wouldn't have been likely but thanks for helping me make up my mind ;)

"Nothing Unusual"

date: April 1, 2005

I've never been a big fan of space shooters, but I'm still aware of all the video games out there falling under this genre. They all stem from Space Invaders and every installment is as unoriginal as the next. It's about time someone pronounced these colourful star battles dead, before they get anymore tedious and unfulfilling.
