A KEY = SHOOT
S KEY = MEGA CANNON (must try this!)
DOWN KEY = SHIELDS
LEFT & RIGHT = MOVE SHIP

Your shield absorbs enemy life to raise your own health. The more you charge your shield, the bigger the impact!

Also, your Mega Cannon is enhanced when you have a fully charged shield!

The Captain Low-Rez series originally appeared on Newgrounds in January of 2001, but was never submitted via the Portal. It is in the process of being moved into the Portal system, for consistency.

Addictive, and score one for us old timers!

I enjoyed this quite a bit. the gameplay was fastpaced yet still enjoyable, and the graphics really took me back a few years. One thing about the gameplay that stood out was that either by accident or design, it was adaptive. Whenever you die, you restart with the same powerups you had, making the second go much easier! Did you mean to do that? Anyway, that was pretty cool game, famous flash person or not.

to hard to beat i always died with thewarnig thingie ?? more upgrades or a litle smoother gameplay could fix it up ( absorb energy wtf??)

nope. another failure

well.. since you've made a classic game theme i give you props for that because classic games kick ass.. however, the game was below average. the shield thing has to be more sensitive because i was pressing down sometimes and it wouldnt let me shield. the enemies could have been spiffed up a bit as far as movement too.

plus that warning thing at the end of level one pissed me off to an enormous extent.. so i just quit.. the way i see it, if a game doesnt catch my attention within the first 2 mins.. i'm gone..

but hey.. i guess this game DOES have some potential because shooting games are very popular and fun.. and because it was a good idea to make a classic game
