Slow computers will run Flash at slow speeds, I found a way around it, but it only goes so far. If the game runs at irritatingly slow speeds for you, close some programs, change the screen size from the options menu, and grab the latest Flash player from http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer, since later versions play the game slightly faster
On some computers, you can only press so many buttons at the same time, this isn't a bug in the game, just something I have no control over
Just in case anybody complains, you are supposed to fall off the disappearing platform in the forest, it's part of the game
One thing I added in this game is the ability to unlock weapons, to unlock them, beat "Megaman vs Metroid" or this game, and you should see a message before the credits saying you've unlocked a new weapon. The new weapon should be selectable in the pause menu the next time you play either game
If you do not see a message saying you got a new weapon, this could be due to several different things....
1. You may have blocked Local Storage, right-click on the game, select "Settings", click on the folder icon, and if the "Never ask again" checkbox is checked, uncheck it
2. Go to http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer and check to see if you have the latest version of Flash
3. You may have ignored the game when it requested storage, if you see a prompt before the credits requesting permission to store data on your computer, allow it
4. Are you sure you don't already have it? Pause the game while playing and check to see if any other weapons are availible
I'd just like to mention the star of "Ghosts 'n Goblins" and the boss of the game, Arthur, is the most untalented video game character in video game history. He can't change direction in midair, can't jump off ladders, can't even throw a spear without having a seizure, you name it he can't do it. I made him as hard as I could to make up for his many flaws, devoted hours and hours of time on his AI alone. Hopefully Arthur will give you a run for your money, but if he's giving you to much trouble, remember he's the most untalented video game character in video game history, use all his weaknesses against him, he's got plenty

In a nutshell, this game is two great classic games combined into a mashup just as great.

I have never played ghost and goblins but ive seen it, and its tough. the platforming you put in the little masterpiece was very fluid, and just like the last game it had great gameplay. I honestly got a little creeped out when a corner of the screen was covered in black at the end. it looked... ominous
it was also nice *SPOILERS* of you to throw proto man into the mix of gameplay too

any way good job five stars

I think this was very authentic to the style of the original Ghosts And Goblins games. And this is coming from a guy who didn't even play them growing up! I have at least played other games similar to it. My only complaint is that it's pretty hard for me. I can only imagine how hard it must have been in the original games. Mega Man is just that good with projectiles.
Oh wait, I'm thinking of Castlevania. Dang, there were a lot of popular horror themed games back then. I love how you make fun of Arthur in the description. You can even start where you died. Again, don't know if the original game was like that.

It's a nice concept, but I feel it'd play nicer and feel amazing if you included some elements from Ghouls n' Ghosts. One of the amazing improvements in the game was being able to fire your weapon in any direction; left, right, up, down. Of course, you could only fire downwards if you were in the air. Your charged attacks (yes, Ghouls n' Ghosts had a charged attack) also fired in arcs around you, or otherwise covered parts of the screen you normally had no control over. I feel that would massively improve your gameplay. Megaman's levels is designed for his linear, extremely limited vertical mobility, while Ghouls n' Ghosts wasn't, having a much greater vertical aspect to the gameplay. Simply throwing Megaman into Ghouls n' Ghosts but half-assing both defining aspects of either game leaves a sort of unfinished feel to your game.
Megaman's defining aspect, I feel, is the ability for him to swap out his weapons basically at will, and for each of those weapons to have completely different mechanics. Without that, you just have a crippled Arthur in a Megaman skin.
Ghouls n' Ghost's defining aspect was the ass-shattering, brutal level design. You hated the game developers by the time you finished the game. Here, you just have a bunch of static, frustrating things. Take a look at a Ghouls n' Ghosts playthrough. The second level, if you can reach it, often makes you want to quit.
I know this is actually Ghosts n Goblins, but the later one improved so much upon the game that it actually became a fun experience, despite the difficulty.
