i all most fell asleep after the first few minutes. i mean for goodness sakes i hade truoble kepping my eyes open. well i just hope the real thing will be a little more up beat.
really great backround and that planet looks spectacular. Looks kickass so far...wheres the movie...how dare you deprive me...there better be some kick ass marine vs aliens in this ^_^

This was done really well. You lost pts on style because the panning was kinda choppy. The music was great, and the graphics were pretty good.
well starcraaft is an awsome game...these graphics are pretty sweet. The music fitted well with this preview. I think this looks to be a great series and keep up the great animation style.
but it is too laggy for us crappy-computer folks. I had to switch it to low quality, and even then, the music stops long before the visuals ever do, the visuals are so lagged. And thus it becomes too long (when the title "Devouring One" shows up 30 seconds after the music stops... there's something wrong).
And it's easy to see why, though. The blue star coming out of a camera eclipse, the nebula, the pan over to the more distant yellow star, etc. etc. It's all wonderfully vibrant space scenery, and I look forward to more. But tone down the CPU intensiveness if you can.
Anyway, the brief shadowy hints of Zergs are nice, and make me want to take up some Starcraft again. One thing I really appreciated, BTW, was that as the planet was starting to edge closer to obscuring the yellow star, I was thinking a bit of a horizon glow should start, and as you made the swarming horde of zerg visible, a glow DID appear. Good job there. #;-}>
The graphics were nice, and Starcraft is one of the best games ever. I bet your series will be off the chain too, but this preview is complete shit. Nothing happens. For 3 minutes we slowly inch toward a planet surounded by Guards and Muts. Then the words "comming soon" appear. Big fucking deal.

It was awesome the way you made the swarm look like it was moving, but I swore out loud when the text "coming soon" came up because you really made me want to see some action.
Dude keep up that good shit! But honestly don't do this again. You made me think my computer was broken. You made me stare at a screen that was movin a inch every minute! Then to say COMING SOON! Keep on making this but don't make an ad for your next one.
When I was watching it it felt like I was watching a major motion picture! I think this has potential to make the big screens. By the way the movie is pretty good.
This is your first submission to Newgrounds, but how long have you been working with animation. If this really your first animation, it should be an example to all those who don't take the time to make sure that what they do is top rate. Even saying that though, you show a lot of talent with this movie. Graphics were good, but the animation could have just that little tiny bit smoother. Sound was well used. I can't wait to see a full movie submission!
This is your first submission to Newgrounds? Usually a persons first is a battle with stick figures. But this was great. The only thing I noticed was that the animation was a little choppy. If you work on that your next flash might make the daily top 5. Keep up the good work.

i was expecting a goood starcraft animation, by its score and i get that? it took like 4 minutes and i got zero out of it, its just really dissapointing, hopefully the series will be good, because that wasnt
Dude, it was a very nice flash work indeed, all the ambience and everything, it looked like an actual movie. But i daresay, i didnt like to watch the swarm for like half an hour. But still, it was amazing, keep up the good work and hurry ur ass up cuz i wanna watch the rest!!.. i love starcraft... and it was a nice work u did on the NEWGROUNDS logotype to put a terran in.. congrats, keep up the good work. ^_^

I need the next it looks so perfect just from the intro!!!! God damn please pull yourself through for this one and its a great first shit to put on Newgrounds it's so amazing! :-D I'm really surprised how good this is I mean this is some amazing stuff you got going for yourself! Give me more please!!! This teaser isn't enough to hold any of the people who love Starcraft back...So good job with this Flash and have more fun and even greater stuff with the next game!

Based on this movie it looks like you are a good animator, but this teaser had a few problems.
First of all it showed absolutetly nothing in a very long period of time ( it was to slow ).
Second of all, watching this trailer tells me nothing about the plot of your series.
I am not trashing you or your series, just commenting so that your newest submition will make front page.
You have potential, don't waste it.

was too effing long. it didn't really show anything about what the film willbe like, unless you plan to show us planets zooming in at an agonizingly slow pace.
That intro was about 80 seconds too long. It had no pacing...and at the end, we know nothing about the story, we don't know what the series will be about (unless we read the author's comments), and we have no urge to see the damn movie, outside of liking Starcraft. You should have waited until you had actual footage from the first episode. Seriously. Watching planets spin, though they were beautiful, and the music was good, was really, really boring. Sorry.
Man, it hurts me to rate movies with potential like this lower than it should be. Your intro was amazing. How you have the whorde slowly realized is an amazing and stylish factor in this movie, but unfortunately, aside from your visuals, that's as far as the movies goes with interest. Unless one is really interested in Star Craft, this doesn't hold much on it's own. There's no exposure to story (in the movie) and no motivation. Don't get me wrong, this isn't bad at all. The problem lies in...how do I explain it....it feels like you had a really kick ass movie on your hands and only submitted half of it. I was really getting into it, and BAM, it ended. Maybe a little more touch on the story and characters would have done the trick. It just seemed like a build up to a really big thing and ended without a hint of what that big thing is.
why would you build everyone up on somthing happening when you end the movie right when it looks like somthing big is going to happen

Anywho, excellent graphix, sound wasn't in my taste but it fit the mood, great idea, and that's a wrap.
But plz, when you make teasers/previews, remember to mention that in the "Author's comments" or the flash title!

I don't know how many people said the space part was too long, but I didn't think it was. I really like the idea. There are only two problems. 1) Starcraft is not really (let's say) popular (apart to the South Koreans). 2) The chance that this project will ever be completed is slim.
even though it was a trailer I found it boring and slow. I would have liked to seen the camera moving faster in some parts, and some different camera angles. Vary the angles of the camera, like some drastic ones. One angle is okay if your doing a side scroller game or something like that but as this is an original action movie ( o_O it is right? ) you need variation. Anyway Your prolly gunna be all like "lets see you make a movie damnit" and thats not what I'm going for just trying to give advice. Hope the first episode is finished soon.

All u did was make some zergs flying in space, and made big words! Not 2 exciting for a preview huh? U made it move 2 slo like a mofo on crack n there was no blood or violence! In each blizzard game theres always blood n violence. Your a excuse for a Starcraft gamer! I mean like id rather watch gigli then watch this crap!! Id sure wouldnt b suprised if the full lenth flash of this makes it for the turd of the week! Well good luck to even try to make it even look good

I have to agree with some of the other people, the opening credits took way to long to go through. Wow, and then you just blast the "Coming Soon." You need to stop stalling to make it seem longer, I actually thought that there would be some sort of plot development, or at least some kind of look at the character. Before you submit the next episode, make sure you speed up the intro.

You call that a submission, you took 5 minutes just for the Introduction. From what I can tell, that took no skill to make. All you did was take a background, Make a few planets, and some poorly made Zerg.
There was nothing in it.
I suggest that next time, make sure something actually happens.
I have to hand it to you, that space scene was very realistic... But it didnt do anything. I spent 12 minutes watching little Zerg dots flying towards me.. Ill watch it when it comes out, but I hope to see more than Zerg dots.

Short flash, but it gave a perfect atmosphere of how the zerg function. Very intimidating if one knew he was about to go into that swarm. And i dont rate it high just cuz i'm an old sc fan, you really did a good job for just a sneak peek.
I dont know what the point of this animation was. all you did was see a swarm of zerg above a planet before they attack. I guess i just dont understand the point of it.

It could have been a much better preview. A dark planet with dark specs that zoom in to be a dark army of zerg. Not too much happened there...

Im not grading this because I dont want to give a bad rating on a good idea, you have my support for the whole zergling hero idea, go with it, whatever you do dont make a whole flash with sounds stolen from stacraft, and please, no more advertisement, OK? Its cool to put them in a FLASH but dont make them stand alone, al'right? Keep in mind that I did NOT give this straight zeros, i just didnt rate it because I didn't want to offend you. Sorry, but this is pretty terrible. The sound sucks (the beginning of some song is all it is)... the graphics suck (a few pictures of a planet and stars, as well as some black dots)... the animation is nothing special (a planet slowly zooming in). There's not much to this movie and nothing to catch my attention. It took too long with nothing happening. Finally, don't make a trailer for a movie that won't be made. This was made 3 years ago and I haven't found a single episode. If you made it, then please put it on NG. There's always room for more movies!

It wasn't a bad clip, just... yea. As many have already said, we came in expecting a movie, and just got a trailer. Also, I agree that it took too long. Not that it took a lot of time, just that you had too much dead air time with nothing happening. I gave it low interactivity, because even though it is a movie, it should have stuff keeping our attention. Once the video started doing things, great, but the lead up to that... not so great. Even just more credits in there would be decent, and maybe start the music a bit earlier. And maybe try to label it as a trailer or preview, instead of a movie, when there isn't any plot to it...
