Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

This has been the most difficult film I have ever made, because its meaning is very true to my soul. For too much of my life I have been a mindless consumer of time. Hopelessly placing value in things that never gave an ounce of value back. Now that I am older, I worry endlessly that this new generation is making the same mistakes I now deeply regret.

In the end, I hope my message is honest and clear. Whether you agree with me or not, please share you thoughts, spark meaningful discussions, and share this film with everyone you know.

Special thanks to all those who have been my strength - and to all of you for taking a moment to open your minds =)

Amazingly true

I'm a huge videogame addict. I'll admit that. What i loved about this video is that you didnt say what people should and shouldn't do, but instead told us about your own expirences. When the animation was over, i started clapping because the message was true and hard hitting. Amazing animation, and an amazingly true message.

I have a bit to say,

At a young age I was introduced to video games, and well me and my friends used to play all the time, I played mostly at home though. Then I started to wonder, how do they make these things? I eventually got into programming which led me to have a valuable career path for whenever I go to college. More or less, I do spend quite 50% of my day on the computer, but I have a decent reason in my opinion. Great video by the way.

Couldn't Be Worded Better

I work at Gamestop, so I get to be on the front lines to see how this is affecting so many people. Video games are a hobby for me; people definitely some before games in my life. You mentioned (essentially) that we should do something productive with our lives. However, this is a society built upon entertainment, which is just a fun waste of time. We get (roughly) 80 years on this Earth, we can't spend all of it being productive because half the reason that most people are productive is so that they can have fun later. You can't have anything without earning it (unless you inherit it, at least). But what's the point in earning it? So you can enjoy what you have. We're a materialistic society and my generation (mid 80s to early 90s) is a generation founded on the principles of doing things to get things. Get a job to get a car. Go to college to get a better job to get a house and a better car and fill your house with nice things.
I loved the message. I just got a little nitpicky there, because modern society really is based on wasting time.

I have to disagree

Ultimately, any way you choose to spend your time, and anything you achieve in life (virtual or not) is without value. It's making me uncomfortable that you're putting one lifestyle above another and everybody is going along with it...
In any case, if a new lifestyle works for you then thats great, especially if the old one was having adverse effects on your students. The movie just came off a little condescending is all.

OH NOOOO!

DID YOU REALLY BURN IT?
But anyway, nice movie, you tell the truth.
I was about to stop playing runescape but I needed someone to push me over it.
Thank you, you really supported me!

I don't think I will be much more hours on newgrounds.
This might be one of my last reviews.
Since I'm standing a 3 on german, I will need to study, instead of game!

I might owe a life to you, so here you go: LIFE +1
