Considering that so many Mediterranean religions speak of a world-wide flood, it can be surmised that there was, at the very least, a massive flood localized on the Mediterranean region. Evidence that would support this includes water erosion up to the shoulders of the Egyptian Sphinx. Such a flood would have very likely appeared to have covered the entire earth. Just my point of view on the event.
