Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.

Oceans serve as a home for canals, which limit and conceal them into a narrow, concentrated water-pathway.

Frontpage.
- Look at that...

I feel as if I've been curled and compacted to fit tightly into place within a single shelf of a 20-shelf compartment.
Thank you, mysterious frontpage-organizing force /"Mr. Fulp(s)".

Impressive.

Im stunned at all. Great submission.

Reminds me of art class films

While the concept seems to flow around the flow of water as the flow of time, aging the young into old, there's elements to this that I am not yet grasping such as the mechanical merged with the natural.

Sadly, the artistic films are rarely appreciated to the full extent they deserve, and tend to be criticized more by the weak minded who fild to find ANY comprehension of the film what-so-ever, and don't even try.

The ideas revolving around the "mechanical merged with the natural", are probably the most personal for me.

In part, they deal with a belief (and slight compulsion) of mine in the idea of "technological superstitions" (a phrase which I'm reasonably sure has been coined before, but I'm not exactly positive).
It is the idea of what could be considered 'superstitions' or 'magical thinking' - even compulsive thinking - being based around mechanical devices; (which, as they continue to grow more complex and intricate, are constantly becoming ever more hidden to most, in their inner-workings and mechanics - by the increasing efforts to conceal them).
The mysteriousness and blurriness that this aesthetic hiddenness creates, allows for the relationships between human beings and technology to grow much closer... to the extent that human beings begin to interact with some forms of technology in increasingly similar ways to those in which they would have nature... as technology appears more and more natural to younger generations, and often strongly influences their perceptions of the natural world.

Because of this, the 'mechanical merged with the human' is used to describe specific, 'natural' human events, through a somewhat 'technologically superstitious' perception.

Indeed.

I don't know what to say. Maybe Newgrounds is maturing. I certainly hope so. This was a beautiful film, and while I might not "get it", I don't think I need to. I enjoyed it, and that's good enough for me.
I especially enjoyed how you incorporated video into the piece, and the graphic backgrounds. The scene where he was riding the mattress(?) in the water and there was the newsprint(?) backdrop reminded me of my childhood spent with Earthworm Jim and Heineken.
I also enjoyed the fact that you used music from the audio portal (I am of course referring to the AndieCiambotti piece, not the Aphex Twin ambience). Newgrounds is filled with beautiful music, and yet so few seem to utilize it.
I hope you continue to make such wondrous animations. If you do, I shall continue to be pleasantly dumbfounded by them.

<deleted> responds:

Thanks so much for the great review!

He was, indeed, floating through the canal upon a mattress in the end - and the skies were compiled of newspaper clippings and a variety of other printable, learned information.

The Audio Portal really is a wonderful place.
I felt really inspired by Andy's "pups". The skies and the pacing of the skies in this were based on that song... Though I did include a heavily-tempo-modified form of it while the baby is growing and developing within the washing machine - the original song is much better.

:[ Sometimes, I wish my childhood was spent with Earthworm Jim and Heineken...
I'm glad that the backdrops reminded you of this combined element which my childhood, devastatingly enough, lacked.

Nice animation!!

This is my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong:
The ocean is represent of the world we all live in. The significance of the matress & the box could be say that our perception of this world is extremly limited, subsequently we cannot always see the paths of life we choose (the tubes). Could the tubes be our path in life? I think so. I think they leed to inevitable consequences (good or bad).
:)
Regardless of it's context this is an amazing piece of flash!! Well done!

hm

2 questions, why did we have to see the guys' cocks?

Why was the song singin pwn pwn? Some subliminal message?
