I believe I'll enter this, my first MAC.

Even though it won't be DnB I will still fail epically.

WOO second MAC contest I'll try out for. The pic idea was a cool idea, i always have the problem of direction in my songs.

Okay, I'm over it. When I first saw the picture, I thought that perhaps I could fit my latest WIP to the picture, and give the plane a chase scene with another plane, but I want to actually improve on my appropriateness for the theme from previous MACs, so, something new for you!

could anyone PLEASE direct me to a wind mp3 or sound something or other somewhere on the interenets? I'm trying to find one for my song, and so far all I've been able to find is really nice sounding wind sounds that cost alot, or terrible sounding wind effects for free.

Couldn't you record the output signal of your computer when playing the previews? :) That's how I get my hands on awesome loops and shiznaz.

Anyway, I should be entering this, got my basics down, need to add in the final bits and tweak stuff, then mix and master.
I'll be like everyone else when I post the song and say "Oooh my first MAC, whoopie!"

Load up a DVD into your computer with the sound effect you'd like.
2.)
Record the sound effect off of stereo mix onto your computer. (Just use something like Windows Sound Recorder.)
3.)
Save as wav and enjoy.

a good site for free sound FX is http://www.soundsnap.com/

those are free, royalty free (aka you can use those in your projects) and quite good
on naturesounds.ca you can find some very good stuff, but is copyrighted and NOT royalty free :(

No, I seriously doubt your age would give you a better chance. If you don't think you're up to the standard, it's up to you to practice and improve so that you can get amongst the ranks through sheer hard work, rather than through age handicaps. Some (I should say "most") of the people in this competition worked damn hard on their submissions. If a younger user won because of their age, I'd be annoyed, as the people that deserve to win are the people that put the time and effort into their work to create a high quality submission. And it's not like we're competing for mere titles, it's real prizes, real cash, and so the winners need to earn those prizes. Just keep working at it, and you'll get some experience behind you, and you'll find that age has nothing to do with it. I don't mean to sound like I'm attacking you personally, but I hope you see where I'm coming from.
