To add onto what mexifry said, I've come to realize that the main ingredient is willpower.
Thanks guys! I'll be making animations and submitting them to Newgrounds so everyone can see how I progress with this!
Once you learn the basics then you can start to gather toys such as a wacom tablet and neat plugins, they make everything a ton easier.
but it's good to work hard in the beginning.

wow flash cs3? dude thats like the best u can get these days man...you can do alot better. try frame by frame animation. i mean, i only have flash 7 and im working on a rly good project right now...you can do much better. just keep tryin!

Only problem is, I am very poor at art, but I am working with a book called, "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards, more information on that in my news area.
Someday I'll be better, a lot better!! Hopefully something like chluaid or LeafWorthy.

practise practise practise. put some time into it it usually makes it alot better. my very first flash animation got a 2.70 and everybodie kept comenting on how good it was for some reason. but only because i put time into it.
5. Use the NG audio portal to your advantage.
Background music is the key to setting a mood to an animation. It can make or break your video.
6. Make a plan for what you want to make.
If you have no plan, it goes nowhere. Make a plan of what you want before you start.

just mess around, try things, and if you don't know what to do, google it, or find a tutorial.
You can't count how many things i've learned on flash just by exploring it's options.
